Sangha Rivers Bartelme

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

On the turn of a board reading {9-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} Sukhdip Sangha had moved all in for 231,000 and Missy Bartelme was deciding on whether or not to make the call.

Finally she said, "I think I'm committed," made the call and saw that she was ahead but that Sangha definitely had some outs.

Missy Bartelme: {a-Clubs}{10-Spades}
Sukhdip Sangha: {q-Hearts}{10-Hearts}

Sangha hit one of those outs on the {a-Hearts} river, which saved his tournament life and sent the large pot his way.

Jason Seitz Earns Coveted Spot in MSPT Hall of Fame

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Minnesota's Jason Seitz made the money here on Day 2 of the MSPT Venetian $1,100 Main Event. It marks his 25th-career MSPT Main Event cash, which means in coordination with his Season 2 win at the MSPT Running Aces, Seitz becomes just the seventh player to win their way into the MSPT Hall of Fame.

Seitz joins the likes of Blake Bohn, Patrick Steele, Mark Hodge, Aaron Johnson, Richard Alsup, and Kou Vang as the only players to achieve the remarkable feat.

The MSPT Hall of Fame, established in 2017, is proud to recognize those individuals who have shown superior skill and achieved specific long-term accomplishments.

The criteria to earn a spot on the MSPT Hall of Fame is as follows:

  • Achieve a minimum of 25 MSPT Main Event Cashes and 1 MSPT Win OR 1 MSPT Player of the Year; or
  • Achieve a minimum of 10 MSPT Main Event Final Tables and 1 MSPT Win OR 1 MSPT Player of the Year

To see which players are close to achieving HOF status, refer to the comprehensive MSPT Stats page.

Carroll Knocks Out Two

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Victor Peppe opened the action with an all-in shove for his last 65,000, and after James Carroll made the call from his small blind Joseph Paris then moved all in from his big for an additional 15,000, which Carroll also called to create a small side pot.

James Carroll: {a-Hearts}{9-Hearts}
Vicotr Peppe: {3-Spades}{3-Hearts}
Joseph Paris: {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}

The flop of {2-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{6-Hearts} left Paris drawing dead and Peppe drawing very thin. The {j-Diamonds} turn and {q-Diamonds} river were of no help to Peppe and both players were eliminated.

Henry Gets Lucky to Crack Aces; Eyzaguirre Eliminated

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Ricardo Eyzaguirre
Ricardo Eyzaguirre

We're not sure how the chips got in, but a preflop raising war resulted in Hanson Henry getting his stack of 271,000 all in preflop against both Corel Theuma and Ricardo Eyzaguirre, with the latter also being all in for roughly 70,000 more.

Ricardo Eyzaguirre: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}
Hanson Henry: {10-Clubs}{8-Clubs}
Corel Theuma: {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}

Theuma had the best of it but the {9-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{10-Spades} flop did pair Henry. The {j-Clubs} turn was interesting as it gave both Henry and Eyzaguirre outs, and the former hit when the {8-Hearts} spiked on the river to give him two pair.

Henry tripled in the hand while Theuma collected the smaller side pot to eliminate Eyzaguirre.
