Harold Singleton Bags Big on Day 1b of MSPT Sycuan $360 Regional Event
Day 1b of the MSPT Sycuan $360 Regional Event, the first event in the inaugural “Showdown Series,” attracted 275 runners, which along with the 305 from Day 1a brings the total field up to 580 entries with Day 1c still to go.
After 15 levels of play, the field was whittled down to 32 players with Benjamin Moon and his stack of 560,000 leading. Hot on his heels was Harold Singleton, with 551,000. Both are a good bit behind that of Day 1a chip leader Happy Spaulding, who bagged 786,000.
Others to bag big stacks were Alex Countser (513,000), Frank Bulinton (448,000), Kobe Brown (369,000), and Will Martschinske (344,000), who round out the top six. They were joined by Martin Tamero (325,000), Channy Yang (265,000), Keith Morgan (118,000), and Nahrain Tamero (71,000), who last summer won a bracelet in the WSOP.com $1,000 Championship Event.
Of course, not everyone was so fortunate. Among those to fire and fall on Day 1b were Grant Geyer, Kevin Meyers, Shane Butts, Aaron Wallace, Carly Gorman, Sarah Smart, and Robert Bowden.
Day 1c will begin at 2 p.m. local time on Saturday. PokerNews will be on-hand bringing you all the updates from start to finish, so be sure to join us then.
