Thanongsinh Wins Two in a Row, Stacks Opponent

Level 2 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Action picked up the turn in a heads-up pot with about 8,000 in the middle. Cards in the middle were {q-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{9-Spades}{2-Diamonds}.

Kevin Thanongsinh was under the gun and bet 5,600. His only opponent was on the button and made the call.

The very connecting {k-Hearts} came in on the river, bringing in straight and flush draws. Thanongsinh fired the river for the same amount, another 5,600. After some thought, his opponent made the call.

Thanongsinh showed {6-Spades}{6-Diamonds} for the set that held up until the end.

*****

In the very next hand, the same opponent as the previous hand raised to 500 from the cutoff. Thanongsinh three-bet the small blind to 1,800. Both the big blind and the cutoff opener made the call.

The board came out {4-Spades}{a-Spades}{9-Clubs}. Thanongsinh continued for 3,500. The big blind player folded, but the cutoff moved all in for just over 10,000. Thanongsinh snap-called.

Opponent: {a-}{q-}
Kevin Thanongsinh: {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}

Thanongsinh was in good shape. He held again on the {j-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} runout to stack his new nemesis.

Burns Torches Opponent With a Full House

Level 2 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Action began on the turn with about 8,000 in the pot. The board showed {2-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{j-Spades}{2-Hearts}.

Mike Burns was out of position against his only opponent on the button. Burns led out from middle position for 4,800. His opponent thought for a while and decided to move all in for 15,600 effective. Burns nearly beat him into the pot with a call.

Mike Burns: {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}
Opponent: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}

Burns had his opponent drawing to two outs, and the {8-Clubs} changed nothing to give Burns the double.

Alonzo Check-Raises the River

Level 2 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Action picked up on the river with 3,500 in the pot. The full board read {6-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}.

Jason Alonzo had checked from the big blind to his lone opponent in middle position. Alonzo saw him put out a bet of 3,000. Alonzo wasn't checking to give up, though.

He went for the check-raise to 59,000, which sent his opponent into the tank for over a minute. Eventually, he let it go and Alonzo raked the pot.

Mell Robs the Bank

Level 2 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Action began on the flop in a heads-up pot with about 2,100 in the middle. The board showed {k-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}.

James Mell checked to Mitchell Bank on the button, and Bank bet 900. Mell check-raised the flop to 2,500 and Bank snap-called.

The turn was the {k-Diamonds}, and despite all the flop action, both players checked.

On the river {q-Diamonds}, Mell checked again, Bank went for a small bet of 1,700. Mell shrugged and tossed in the call.

Bank mucked his cards, so Mell slid his in face down as well to take it down with a mystery hand.
