Friedman Finds a Better Spot

Level 2 : 100/200, 200 ante
Adam Friedman
Adam Friedman

On the first hand after he folded to the wild three-way action in front of him, Adam Friedman got involved in a hand with Veronica Daly.

On the turn with several thousand in the pot already and the board reading {k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}, Daly led for 2,000 in early position and Friedman called. The river brought the {9-Clubs}, and Daly checked to Friedman, who checked back.

Daly showed {j-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} for a missed flush draw that she's fortunate didn't come in as Friedman showed {q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for a winning pair of queens and a better flush draw that likely would have earned him a much bigger pot.

Brush Sweeping Up Chips

Level 3 : 200/300, 300 ante
Daryn Brush
Daryn Brush

Daryn Brush has established himself as one of the early big stacks in the room, and he recently added to his total.

In a three-way pot on the river with the board reading {5-Hearts}{9-Spades}{10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{a-Diamonds} and a sizable pot already built, Zewdie Wondimagegnehu checked in early position to Brush who bet 12,000 from middle position. Rhodora Luck made the call in the big blind, and Wondimagegnehu was left to a decision.

Ultimately he decided to fold instead of committing over half of his remaining stack, and he was pleased with the outcome as Brush turned over {k-Spades}{10-Spades} for winning trip tens, while Luck showed {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts} for a rivered top pair.

"Me too", said Wondimagegnehu as Brush dragged the pot to push him toward 100,000 in chips.
