Day 1b Of The Mid-States Poker Tour $1,100 Begins At 11:10 A.M.

After a large turnout in last week's event, The Mid-States Poker Tour is kicking off their second flight of their second event with The Mid-States Poker Tour $1,100 No-Limit Hold’em at Venetian Las Vegas. Like the prior event, this one also boasts a hefty guarantee, this time to the size of $1,500,000.

Yesterday’s flight saw a total of 179 entrants come out to play with Valentin Oberhauser leading the remaining 22 players of the flight with 538,000. This flight expects over double that in terms of entrant number and the following flight looks to be even bigger. Other players that bagged last flight included Reg Powell (365,000) and last week’s fourth place finisher Jack O’Neill (173,000).

Many players are expected to make appearances today, including MSPT 2021 player of the year Kyna England, Dan Bekavac, Aaron Johnson, Josh Reichard, and Rich Alsup.

The players will sit down with 25,000 in starting chips with blinds beginning at 100/100 and a 100 big blind ante. Blinds will last 40 minutes with a 15-minute break after every three levels. A 60-minute dinner break will occur after Level 9 and once the dinner break is completed, registration will be closed for that flight.

Sogomonian More Than Doubles

Action picked up on the turn with a roughtly 10,000 in the middle between three players including Arman Sogomonian in middle position.

On a board reading , the action checked to Sogomonian who bet 8,500 and was called by both the button and the big blind.

The river came off the and the big blind checked to Sogomonian who moved all-in for 14,700 and the button called while the big blind folded.

The king high straight was no good for his opponent and Sogomonian's full house gave him a healthy boost to his chip count early in the tournament.

Hawkins And Sogomonian Chop Up Opponent

Level 3 : 200/300, 300 ante

Action was picked up four ways on the flop with Maurice Hawkins in first position and Arman Sogomonian the small blind with 2,900 in the middle already.

The flop read and Hawkins checked to his opponent in early position who bet 1,500 and was called by all other opponents in the hand. Hawkins raised to 4,000 and the early position player called which folded out the player in the cutoff and Arman Sogomonian raised to 10,900 which Hawkins and early position called.

The turn rolled off a and Sogomonian checked to Hawkins who bet 4,000 which the early position player called. Sogomonian moved all-in for 16,000 effective and Hawkins called off for his remaining 9,000 which sent the early position player into the tank. After some time he called for his remaining 16,000 and Hawkins screamed "We got a chance!"

Saeman Takes Down A Big Pot

A player raised under-the gun to 1,000 and was flatted by Gerold Saeman in early position as well as 3 additional players behind. In the big blind Matthew Lambrecht three-bet to 7,500 which all the players called and the flop was seen six ways.

The flop came out and Lambrecht checked to his opponent who moved all-in for 7,100 and Gerold Saeman called in early position which all other players folded to in response.

The board read and Gordon checked to his opponent who moved all-in for 106,500 which sent Gordon into the tank. After counting out the his stack, he tossed in the one chip for the call and both hands were tabled.
