Kinzer Cages A Shorty

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

A short-stacked player open-jammed for 13,500 in the cutoff and wound up receiving action from Michael Kinzer, who was on the button.

All-In Player: {q-Spades}{9-Diamonds}
Michael Kinzer: {a-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}

The runout {10-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{3-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} ultimately left the all-in player's two live cards and backdoor gutshot dry and spell the end of his night at the expense of Kinzer.

McMaster Coolers Gonzales and Vanstrom

Level 12 : 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante

Danny Gonzales was just eliminated from the tournament by Derek McMaster, stopping by to share the details.

"It was a crazy three-way all-in between me, Jason (Vanstrom), and the guy getting the massage (McMaster)," said Gonzales. The three wound up getting stacks in preflop with Vanstrom having the covering stack.

Danny Gonzales: {k-}{k-}
Derek McMaster: {a-}{a-}
Jason Vanstrom: {q-}{q-}

Minnesota's McMaster saw his bullets shoot down the two Colorado natives, leaving Vanstrom crippled. Moments later, he was also eliminated from the tournament, and now just 27 players remain.

Updated Counts

Level 12 : 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante

Just three tables remain in play with 23 players remaining from what is still 132 entries with a little under 20 minutes remaining in the Late Registration period.

As of now, the magic number for a hard stop to bring about an early end to the night looks to be 15. Should the field be reduced to that number prior to the end of Level 15, play will end early for the night.

In the meantime, both Zach Gutierrez and Derek McMaster have risen to the top of the counts, surpassing Peter Johnson, who's had over 200K since before the dinner break.

Bruce Carter was in early position and got his stack of around 50,000 into the middle preflop against Zach Gutierrez, who was in middle position.

Bruce Carter: {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}
Zach Gutierrez: {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}

Carter was unable to find an ace on a runout of {6-Spades}{6-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{9-Spades}{5-Diamonds} and was eliminated from the tournament as a result, bringing Gutierrez over 300,000 along the way and making him the chip leader shortly before the final break of the night.
