Day 1b Started
It's time for day 1b of the Mid-States Poker Tour (MSPT) Black Hawk $1,110 Main Event, the second of three starting flights for the weekend.
Another strong showing is expected to turn up to Bally's Black Hawk to try and play their way into Sunday's Day 2 after 15 accomplished that feat on Thursday's Day 1a from 133 entries, a massive increase from the 73 that were logged on Day 1a the last time an MSPT Main Event was held in Black Hawk in November 2019.
Cards are in the air at noon local time with starting stacks of 25,000 and blinds beginning at 100/100 with a big-blind ante in play from the get-go. Levels last 40 minutes all tournament long with 10-minute breaks at the end of every three levels/two hours of play and a 40-minute dinner break at the conclusion of Level 9. Late registration will remain open until the beginning of Level 13 following the final break of the night at approximately 9:10 p.m. local time, with one re-entry available per flight for players who bust within that time.
Day 1a reached the 12%-figure of 15 players required for a hard stop to end play half a level early with Michael Kinzer (488,000) leading the pack. As such, Day 1b will end at the same time, with 21 minutes left exactly remaining in Level 15 (3,000/5,000/5,000) unless 12% of the field remains in this flight prior to that time.
Make sure to follow PokerNews throughout the day, as action is sure to be fast and frequent. See you around.

"All in," said a player in middle position on a completed board of .
"How much is it?" asked Joel Verbeck, who was on the button. The dealer eyed 9,600 and then cut out the stack to confirm such an amount with more than half of each player's stack already in the middle. "Call," announced Verbeck.
"You're good. Ace-deuce," said the middle-position player, flashing as Verbeck tabled a winning to earn the early double and send the player to fire his second and final bullet of the flight in the first level of the day.

The dealer was in the process of collecting 1,400 from four players on a board reading before bringing the river . Action checked to Michael Wyporowich in middle position and he bet 3,300, with only Nader Wahdan check-calling from the big blind.
Wyporowich tabled for Broadway and Wahdan mucked.
"Nice river,' said Wyporowich as he collected the pot.
