$1,110 Main Event ($200K GTD)
Day 1b Completed
The Mid-States Poker Tour (MSPT) Black Hawk $1,110 Main Event has a new chip leader after Day 1b, and it's Canada's Michael Wyporowich (556,000) leading the 25 that bagged from 216 entries when a hard stop was reached with 12% of the field remaining for the tournament's second consecutive day.
Wyporowich got through on his second bullet of the day, one he almost did not fire. However, he chose to get in, and he chose correctly, multiplying his stack multiple times in the final few hours of the evening. With what wound up to be around a full level remaining in the night, Wyporowich had a stack of just over 100K that he doubled once more, and was seen just moments later having increased that figure to over 350K. One last surge brought him over half a million, giving him both the end-of-day and overall chip lead among the 40 collective players that have advanced to Sunday so far.
Dapo Ajayi (475,000) finished the day second in chips, seeing relatively no resistance from his table all day long until ceding a double to Al Hart (214,000) on the final hand of the night. Jerry Morrell (382,000), Peter Nigh (370,000), and Craig Varnell (343,000) all finished with top-five stacks as well.
Others to bag included Ryan Hunsinger (342,000), Terence Reid (234,000), David Blankenship (214,000), Sarah Stefan (132,000), and Daniel Sepiol (122,000).
Meanwhile, players such as Will Givens, Vincent Moscati, Bryan Piccioli, Joe Serock, and DJ Buckley were among those that did not make it through day. One more flight remains, set to begin Saturday at noon with a full house expected as usual for weekends inside Bally's Black Hawk, and registration will open at 10 a.m. Thus, all who wish to enter are advised to register early to avoid having to wait as an alternate.
PokerNews will be back Saturday to bring you updates on the final flight from start to finish. Until then, take care.

Greg Collins found himself short after losing with ace-king to ace-nine earlier in the evening and then re-jammed his last 27,000 from the hijack over an early-position raise from Ryan Hunsinger, who called.
Greg Collins:
Ryan Hunsinger:
Collins once again had a big ace in dominating shape only to see the flop come and give Hunsinger a pair of kings. The turn brought him four more outs, but they all bricked on the river and he was eliminated in 27th place.
Moments later, an announcement was then made as another elimination occurred at an adjacent table to bring the field down to 25 and reach a hard stop to end play early for the second consecutive night, this time with 33:30 remaining in Level 15 (12:30 earlier than Day 1a.)
As for the details of the elimination, a short-stacked player open-jammed for 20,000 and Dapo Ajayi re-jammed with to put the rest of the table all in. Al Hart called with and scored the knockout and more than a double on the final hand of the night. And with the won pot, Michael Wyporovich has risen to the chip lead past Ajayi to end the day with top stack.
A complete list of chip counts from the 25 to advance will be posted shortly with an end-of-day recap to follow.

Adam Wilbur opened to 10,000 in middle position and saw action fold around to Sergio Sanchez in the big blind, who re-jammed for around 100,000. Wilbur made the call for most of his stack.
Sergio Sanchez:
Adam Wilbur:
Sanchez looked poised to make the comeback after ceding a double in the previous level to find himself short. The flop and turn left him just one card away from a double of his own, but the river came to spoil his efforts and earn Wilbur the pot and the knockout.
Twenty-seven players now remain with two minutes left in Level 14. Play will go for another 20 minutes or until two more eliminations occur.

Michael Wyporowich defended his big blind versus an open from the player on the button to take action heads up to a flop of . Wyporowich checked and his opponent continuation-bet 14,000. He check-jammed for 91,000 and his opponent thought for a bit before calling.
Michael Wyporowich:
Opponent:
Wyporowich's top pair was ahead of his opponent's middle pair, leaving him in need of fading the two outer to stay alive and score the double. He did just that as the turn and river completed the runout, bringing him up over 200K and leaving his opponent with dust in the process.
