Pelz Gets a Flop Jam Through

Level 10 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Ian Pelz
Ian Pelz

A player in middle position opened to 4,000 and received a call from the hijack. Ian Pelz was next to act in the cutoff and he three-bet to 15,000. The original opener quickly folded, and then the hijack went into the tank for more than a minute before tossing in chips to call.

The flop dropped {8-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} and the hijack checked. Pelz took his remaining stack of 33,500 and put it onto the felt, pushing it so that it toppled forward. The hijack once again went into the tank for close to a full minute and then found a fold, earning Pelz the pot.

The Ladies Love Barry Faecher

Level 10 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Barry Faecher
Barry Faecher

A pile of chips was already in the middle on a board reading {10-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{a-Spades} and three players had cards in front of themselves. Barry Faecher bet 9,000 under the gun and was called by a player in middle position. The hijack then raised to 35,000 and Faecher jammed for 39,500. The middle-position player went into the tank, eventually announcing a fold, and then the hijack confirmed the remainder to call before doing so.

"If you've got the straight, you've got me beat," said Faecher.

"I don't," said his opponent, tabling {a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}.

Faecher turned over {q-Spades}{q-Hearts} for a set of queens and needed only to fade the two remaining aces in the deck. The river {7-Spades} fell cleanly in his favor and he scored the sizeable pot for more than a double.

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Derek McMaster
Derek McMaster

All of the chips went into the middle before the flop between Derek McMaster in the small blind and Ashton Bellah, in early position.

Derek McMaster: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}
Ashton Bellah: {j-Spades}{j-Hearts}

"Ace-king; jacks," announced the dealer of the two players' hands before bringing a ten-high runout of {3-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{7-Clubs}{5-Spades} to leave Bellah's jacks best. Stacks were counted with McMaster's totaling 50,500 and Bellah's 51,500, and McMaster was eliminated from the tournament.

All-In Player: {j-Spades}{10-Hearts}

Soller Flips for His Stack

Level 12 : 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante

The cutoff opened the action with a raise to 8,000 and Zach Soller re-jammed for 32,000 from the small blind. The cutoff called.

Zach Soller: {5-Hearts}{5-Clubs}
Cutoff: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}

The cutoff picked up four more outs on the flop {10-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{8-Clubs}, but running {6-Spades}{6-Clubs} left Soller's pocket fives best and he won the coin flip to double.
