Joseph Gunn Eliminated in 10th Place ($4,192)

Level 29 : 60,000/120,000, 20,000 ante
Joseph Gunn
Joseph Gunn

Jeff Heiberg open-limped the cutoff and saw James Callanan complete his small blind. Joseph Gunn checked his option in the big blind and the three went to a flop of {9-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{j-Clubs}.

Callanan checked and Gunn bet 235,000. Heiberg raised to 700,000 and Callanan folded, sending action back to Gunn who jammed all in for a bit more and was immediately called.

Joseph Gunn: {j-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}
Jeff Heiberg: {j-Hearts}{9-Hearts}

"Nice hand," said Gunn upon seeing his top pair was up against jacks and nines. He did not hit running sixes as {10-Hearts}{5-Clubs} completedthe runout and was eliminated in 10th place as a result.

With his elimination, nine now remain and those nine have reached the final table. They are in the process of drawing for seats and will soon go on a 40-minute dinner break thereafter. An updated seat draw and list of chip counts will be posted shortly.

Perez Strikes First Blood

Level 29 : 60,000/120,000, 20,000 ante

Juan Perez opened to 250,000 under the gun and saw action fold to the button, where Barb Visher three-bet to 550,000. Perez called.

The flop came {3-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{a-Diamonds} and Perez jammed for 1.4 million. Visher quickly showed {k-Clubs}{k-} as she tossed them to the muck.

Barb Visher Eliminated in 9th Place ($5,389)

Barb Visher

"Well, since I'm tilting," said Barb Visher after losing the previous hand, tossing in a raise to 360,000 in the cutoff. Cy Church called on the button and action went heads up to af lop of {j-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{7-Spades}.

"Can I ask you a question?" said Visher to Church, looking over to him on her direct left. "What would a good player do?"

The table set about in laughter while Church cracked a visible smile, and then Visher followed it up by announcing she was all in. Church called.

Barb Visher: {q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}
Cy Church: {a-Diamonds}{j-Spades}

Visher's top pair with a queen kicker was behind that of Church's, and she did not catch the three outer she needed as the turn {10-Diamonds} and river {a-Clubs} completed the runout to result in her being the first to fall at the final table.

Cy Church raised to 450,000 under the gun and saw Matthew Ludiker three-bet shove for 1.09 million. Church asked for a count and then called after about half a minute of thought.

Matthew Ludiker: {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}
Cy Church: {j-Spades}{7-Spades}

The runout {7-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} gave Church two pair, jacks and sevens to eliminate Ludiker in eighth place early in Level 30.
