Shin Wrecked Early

Level 3 : 100/300, 0 ante

Mike Shin played several single-raised pots in a row but the last went quite poorly for the MSPT champ, who also has a third-place finish here for $334K.

In this particular pot, Shin opened in middle position and the big blind defended. On the {10-Clubs}{a-Spades}{10-Spades} flop, Shin continued for 800 and the big blind called. Shin barreled again on the {8-Clubs} for 1,700, but this time the big blind clicked back to 3,400. Shin called. The {a-Diamonds} river checked through and Shin couldn't beat the {k-}{10-} his opponent tossed in with a sigh.

Sepiol Folds the River

Level 4 : 200/300, 300 ante

Four players saw a flop of {9-Spades}{7-Clubs}{3-Clubs} and Daniel Sepiol bet 1,300 from the cutoff. The button, small blind and big blind all called in turn. The {7-Spades} checked through, bringing an {8-Hearts}. The small blind led out 2,000, the big blind folded, Sepiol called, and the player on the button splashed in a raise to 7,300.

Everyone folded, with both the small blind and Sepiol thinking briefly before giving it up.

"Go Tank Somewhere Else Bro"

Level 4 : 200/300, 300 ante
Jordan Cristos
Jordan Cristos

Ryan Hunsinger opened on the button for 600, Jordan Cristos made it 2,600 on his left, and Hunsinger called. On the {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{6-Spades} flop, Cristos bet 1,600, Hunsinger raised to 4,500 and Cristos went into the tank. After a bit of thinking time, Hunsinger called a clock.

With about five seconds left, Cristos moved in for 10,200 and Hunsinger beat him into the pot with {q-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}.

"Go tank somewhere else, bro," Hunsinger said, standing up as Cristos slowly tabled {10-}{10-}.

Cristos didn't improve on the turn or river and Hunsinger collected his stack.

Yu Pays Off a Slowplay

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

Sean Yu was under the gun and bet 3,500 into 5,500 on {q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{9-Spades}. A player in the hijack folded but the player on the button, John Sloat, stuck around for the {3-Diamonds} river. Yu checked and Sloat quickly fired 7,500. Yu called pretty quickly as well but was shown {k-Spades}{j-Diamonds} for the nuts.

Alsup Blasts River

Rich Alsup
Rich Alsup

Three players put in 4,300 preflop to see a {6-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} flop. The big blind, who had three-bet, checked it over to Rich Alsup, who bet 4,000 from middle position. The cutoff folded but the big blind continued to the {j-Clubs} turn, which checked through to the {a-Spades}. The big blind put in the Cary bet of 400 and Alsup responded with 10,000.

The big blind tank-folded and Alsup didn't show.

Buckley's Top Set Cracked

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

Three players saw a turn that made the board {7-Spades}{j-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{6-Clubs}. The small blind checked, DJ Buckley checked in middle position, and the hijack bet 2,500 into about 10,000. Only Buckley continued to the {10-Clubs} river, which was quickly checked through.

The hijack sighed and turned over {5-Spades}{4-Spades} for the low straight but it was good as Buckley flashed {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}.
