Originally from New Hope, Minnesota but now residing in San Diego, California with his family, Rich Alsup has more than $1.9 million in career tournament earnings (as of November 2022) according to the Hendon Mob. That includes a career-best $273,430 for finishing third in the 2018 Mid-States Poker Tour (MSPT) Venetian $1,655 Main Event.
It is also slightly ahead of the $272,065 he won for taking down the 2022 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Event #82: $800 No-Limit Hold’em, which also marked his first gold bracelet.
In regards to the MSPT, Alsup is one of the most decorated players in tour history. He was the second player inducted into the MSPT Hall of Fame and is the tour’s all-time money leader with $846,064 in earnings as of November 2022. He was the 2016 MSPT Player of the Year, has 13 Main Event final tables, and won the MSPT Meskwaki in November 2015 for $101,229.
