Early Value for Mader

Level 1 : 100/100, 100 ante

Phil Mader was in the big blind and looking at a board of {4-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}. He flicked in a pot-sized bet of 5,000 and an opponent in early position put in a chip to call.

Mader turned over {j-Hearts}{8-Hearts} for top pair that turned into a flush and he dragged the pot.

Welcome to Day 1b of MSPT Riverside $1,100 Main Event

MSPT Riverside Day 1a
MSPT Riverside Day 1a

With one flight in the books, it's time for Day 1b of Mid-States Poker Tour Riverside $1,100 Main Event.

The turnout on Day 1a could only be described as very strong, with 354 entries logged over the course of the first 12 levels of play. That number could perhaps have even been bigger were the venue not grappling with limited space — every seat was filled for most of the duration of registration.

That means the $200,000 guarantee has been an afterthought from square one, and the prize pool should push well past $500,000 during the course of Day 1b, if not right from the outset. Some players have reported that they were given alternate tickets several hours in advance of the first card being dealt, so another full house is expected.

Day 1a saw 48 entries get through to tomorrow's Day 2, so expect a similar number to advance today. Once again, 15 levels or 12% of the field is the target number, with players getting 25,000 in their starting stacks and being allowed one reentry per flight. The last level scheduled is 3,000/5,000/5,000.

Keep an eye on the updates here on PokerNews to see what happens.
