The first of three Day 1 flights played to its completion in the MSPT $360 Regional at Sycuan Casino Thursday night. The opening event in the MSPT United States Poker Championship drew 104 entries to Sycuan Casino in San Diego, CA on Day 1a.

By night's end, 13 players survived and advanced to Day 2. Those players will return Sunday to compete against the survivors of Day 1b (Friday at 5 p.m.) and Day 1c (Saturday at 2 p.m.)

Dantram Huynh (502,000) emerged as the Day 1a chip leader, followed by Tai Reyes Purpero (353,000), Richard Lanes (291,000), and Rod Danger (291,000).

Other players bagging Day 1a included Adrianne Hall (247,000), Ronald Segni (220,000) and Igor Keselman (196,000).

Among the name not making it through Day 1a included Benjamin Moon, who saw his night end at the end of a two pair versus flush cooler. The former WSOP bracelet winner still has the opportunity to advance to Day 2, however, as players have unlimited re-entry through Level 13 of all Day 1 flights.

Day 1b commences Friday at 5 p.m. All Day 1 phases are scheduled to play through 15 half-hour levels, or until 12 percent of the field remains.

The $100,000 guaranteed tournament continues throughout the weekend. Stay here with the PokerNews live reporting blog for comprehensive coverage of the $360 Regional, which is slated to crown a champion on Sunday.
