The latest stop on the Mid-States Poker Tour begins today! The MSPT United States Poker Championship runs Sept. 16-26 at Sycuan Casino in the San Diego, CA area, and PokerNews is on hand to live report the opening tournament of the series.

That tournament comes in the form of Event #1: $360 Regional NLHE, which begins today at 5 p.m. Today's Day 1a flight plays as the first of three opening day flights, with Day 1b scheduled for Friday at 5 p.m., and Day 1c beginning on Saturday at 2 p.m.

The $360 Regional plays as an unlimited re-entry event, with late registration available up to the beginning of Level 13. All Day 1 flights feature 30-minute levels, and the day wraps up at the end of Level 15.

Players start with 25,000 chips, and all participants are vying for a share of the $100,000 guaranteed prize pool available in this tournament. The players that survive Day 1a will advance to Day 2, scheduled for Sunday at noon local time.

The United States Poker Championship marks the second time in 2021 that the MSPT has stopped by San Diego. The last time the $360 Regional Event ran at Sycuan Casino, in May, 1,047 entries registered and the prize pool ended up at $312,600.

Can the latest MSPT San Diego festival produce another $300k-plus prize pool in the opening event? Stay tuned right here with the PokerNews live reporting team as the $360 Regional plays out this weekend.
