Moreno Busts Barnum; MSPT Player of the Year Race Heats Up on Day 2

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Justin Barnum
Justin Barnum

It was reported to the PokerNews team that Justin Barnum is now out of the tournament after he was outdrawn by Johnnie Moreno in the early going. Barnum had just a few big blinds left when he got it all in.

Justin Barnum: {a-Spades}{8-Clubs}
Johnnie Moreno: {7-Clubs}{2-Hearts}

The board ran out {j-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{j-Clubs} and Moreno picked up an unlikely flush to end Barnum's day.

Meanwhile, Dan Bekavac is building a stack at the same table. Barnum and Bekavac are currently in the heat of this season's MSPT Player of the Year and they both trail Josh Reichard on the overall leaderboard. CJ Peake also remains in today's tournament with a chance to close the gap.

Here's a look at the standings prior to this week's MSPT Main Event double-billing:
