After four long hard-fought days of poker, all Day 1’s of the Mid-Stakes Poker Tour $1,100 (1.5M GTD) Main Event have come to an end. Today, it was Max Corcoran from Arizona who stood tall among the many after bagging 548,500 in chips.
Day 1d began play with nearly 500 entrants and steadily increased up until late registration ended – coming in at a total of 1,233. By the day’s end, that number had dwindled to fewer than 200.
Taken altogether, Day 1a through Day 1d had a combined total of 2,790 entries. This brings the official prize pool to $2,692,350 – well beyond the $1.5 million guarantee.
A total of 297 players will cash, with a min-cash being worth $2,423 and the eventual champion taking home a cool $367,801.
Notables who managed to bag into Day 2 include Jerod Smith (140,500), Steven Wilkie (130,500), Jacob Rich (327,600), Jeremy Calverley (116,000), Nicholas Palma (39,000), and Joe Cada (65,500), who nursed a short stack for much of the evening.
Among those who didn’t make the cut were Irene Carey, Ari Engel, Dan Sears, Ralph Massey, Matt Affleck, Jesse Sylvia, and Allen Kessler.
Day 2 is set to begin a 11 a.m. local time, with players encouraged to come a bit early so as to unbag their chips. The money bubble is expected to burst shortly after play begins.
