Nanji Displays Her Acting Skills

Level 13 : 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante
Fatima Nanji
Fatima Nanji

Fatima Nanji was heard telling a friend, "These four blinds? That's all I need... I'm going to take these and win the entire tournament!"

Nanji was first to act and after peeking at her cards, proclaimed "I'm all-in!" as she tossed in 10,000. Action folded around to the player in the cutoff who held for a moment before shrugging and tossing in calling chips. Both blinds and the button folded and they were heads up.

Cutoff: {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts}
Fatima Nanji: {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}

The flop of {3-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{q-Clubs} gave Nanji's opponent a gutshot straight draw. This made some players at the table react verbally. When the {3-Hearts} came on the turn, the table erupted as Nanji's opponent had a flush draw now as well.

The {a-Diamonds} river made the table settle down and Nanji's neighbor on her right said, "I should have known. With your speech and everything I should have known!"

Nanji flashed a large smile as she pulled in her pot.

Baldwin Gets There on the River

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Eric Baldwin
Eric Baldwin

Eric Baldwin went all in preflop and was called by his neighbor to his left. Everyone else at the table folded and the two heads up players revealed their cards.

Eric Baldwin: {a-Clubs}{4-Clubs}
Opponent: {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}

The flop of {2-Spades}{2-Hearts}{6-Spades} and turn {7-Hearts} did nothing to improve Baldwin's hope of remaining in the event.

The {a-Spades} on the river, however, kept Baldwin alive and evoked a strong emotion from the table.

Nguyen Traps His Opponent

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Kevin Nguyen
Kevin Nguyen

The board read {7-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{8-Spades}{8-Clubs} when Kevin Nguyen found himself heads up and facing a bet of 7,500.

Nguyen thought about what he wished to do for a moment before announcing a raise to 23,000. Nguyen's opponent was not pleased with the raise and verbally went over what Nguyen could have.

"Seven Eight? Do you have seven-eight here?" he said before calling chips were tossed in.

Opponent: {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}
Kevin Nguyen: {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades}

Nguyen didn't have the feared seven-eight but Nguyen's opponent was correct to fear the full house.

Setzer Improves on the Turn

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante
Brandon Setzer
Brandon Setzer

There was about 8,000 in the pot with a flop of {10-Spades}{3-Clubs}{4-Clubs} when the small blind, Brandon Setzer, was heads up with a late-position player.

Setzer led out with a bet of 7,500 and the late-position player shoved his entire stack of 48,500 forward. Setzer asked for an official count and went into the tank. Setzer just covering the all-in player made the call and the cards were turned over.

Brandon Setzer: {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}
Opponent: {q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}

Setzer didn't have to wait long as the {a-Diamonds} turn gave him the better pair. The {5-Clubs} river only improved Setzer to a flush. Setzer pulled in his near double up while his neighbor remarked, "Wow, I think we have a new chip leader!"
