Huge Pot for Voulgaris

Level 11 : 60,000/120,000, 20,000 ante
Haralabos Voulgaris
Haralabos Voulgaris

A fascinating hand involving Haralabos Voulgaris and Yaqi Sun just played out at Table 11. As Bob Safai put it after the hand. "That was some bad s**t right there boys."

The hand started with a raise to 250,000 from Voulgaris (cutoff) and Sun defended from the big blind. Sun called bets of 275,000 and 425,000 respectively on the {Q-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{8-Clubs} flop and {7-Spades} turn, but the {6-Hearts} river is where it got really interesting.

Sun very deliberately counted out his stack to see how much he had left (2,275,000) this took about 30 seconds and he then bet 1,275,000 to leave exactly 1,000,000 back. "What's going on? I'm confused," said Voulgaris as he leant forward. "You want me to call or you want me to fold?" asked Voulgaris to Sun, who didn't answer. "You could have the flush, that's a possibility," he added.

The Canadian then cut out the calling chips from his stack, paused a few beats and then called. Sun turned over {K-Clubs}{4-Spades} for a pair of fours, Voulgaris had him beat with {K-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} and is now one of the chip leaders.
