A Three-Step System

The €1,000,000-buy-in event kicks off today, but yesterday there were already cards in the air. A three-step satellite system was played with €10,000, €50,000 and €250,000 steps to the Big One today. A total of 6 players were playing the last step with a buy-in of €250,000. One seat was awarded, the runner-up received €500,000. We'll try to find out who won that satellite and who finished in second place. For now, some photos of the action, shot by Neil Stoddart.

A Glamorous Opening

After the Cirque du Soleil opening act, a lavish dinner was set of the high rollers and their coaches and entourage. Some of them went to Jimmy'z nightclub afterward, one of the most exclusive and expensive clubs in the world. Photos by Neil Stoddart.
