Day 1 Started
At 12:30 p.m. local time, the first day of the $1,100 6-Max takes off here at The Star Sydney Champs. Last year’s edition attracted 243 runners and according to the tournament staff, this year’s action will be hot and heavy too as the 6-max format always creates heaps of liveliness. Hun Wei Lee (also known as Andy Lee) is the defending champion as he won this event last year for A$64,408.
Players like Nurlan Boobekov, Ali Ghezelbash, Michel Bouskila, Graeme Putt, Luke Martinelli, Hamish Crawshaw, and Grant Levy all made the money stages last time and might be showing up again to better their previous results.
The players will get 15,000 chips in their starting stacks, play 40-minute levels with a 10-minute break after every three levels. A 30-minute dinner break is scheduled after the ninth level of play. The late registration and unlimited reentry period will be open until the start of Level 7 which should be at approximately 4:50 p.m. local time. Fifteen levels of play are scheduled for Day 1 in this tournament which features the traditional ante that is paid by each player from Level 5 onwards.
