Soon after sitting down for his third bullet, Rory Young defended his big blind against a raise to 3,500 by Tom Rafferty on the button. Young check-raised a bet of 3,500 on the 
flop to 10,500 and that did the trick to force a fold from Rafferty.
Young also won a showdown hand in a battle of the blinds with Hun Wei Lee in the next hand to build an early profit in the third attempt.
