Who Will Reach The Final Table of the 2019 The Star Sydney Champs Main Event?

Jason Pritchard among the big stacks for Day 2
Jason Pritchard among the big stacks for Day 2

It has been a record-breaking series at the 2019 The Star Sydney Champs festival and the A$3,000 Main Event put the cherry on top as a field of 600 entries smashed the previous attendance record of the previous year, when a field of 522 entries had emerged. With both starting days completed, only 123 hopefuls remain in contention and the top 63 spots will take home a portion of the A$1,680,000 prize pool.

Leading the field into Day 2 is Sydney's Cezary Klimczak, who bagged up 414,500 on Day 1b, which is good enough for 138 big blinds when the action resumes in level 12 at blinds of 1,500/3,000 with a running ante of 500. He is followed by Michael Tran (381,000), Trevor Godfrey (375,000), Nickolas Oiberman (338,500) and Brian O'Farrell (336,500), while Day 1a chip leader Jo Snell sits in sixth place overall with 335,000.

Other notables that will return to their seats at The Star Sydney near Darling Harbour with an above-average stack for Day 2 are Jason Pritchard (313,000), John Rosario (278,500), Navid King (274,000), Michael Kanaan (264,000), Luke Edwards (263,000), Mazyar Misaghian (247,000), Shivan Abdine (247,000), Corey Kempson (223,000), Murray Chick (203,000), Win Tan (195,200), Robert Spano (188,500), Dylan Kehoe (173,000), and Guangyu Wang (154,700).

Several big names of Aussie poker also remain in contention as Billy Argyros, Connie Graham, David Hirst, Craig Blight, Matthew Wakeman, Chad Awerbuch and Gary Benson all have chips at their disposal. The Kiwis Hamish Crawshaw, Graeme Putt and Wenjian Qiu made the short trip over to the coast of New South Wales and Will Davies, Sebastian Trisch and Haoran Zhang are among the international players in the field.

If the nine-handed final table is reached prior to that, the action will conclude for the night. The PokerNews team will be on the floor to provide all the action and the Run It Up live stream with dynamic delay will also be available throughout the remainder of the tournament.
