Salter and Yong Shove

Level 12 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

In a battle of the blinds, Jack Salter check-called a bet of 35,000 by Erik Seidel on the {7-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{7-Clubs} turn. The {3-Spades} on the river saw Salter check again and Seidel checked behind. "I win," Salter said and turned over {7-Hearts}{6-Clubs} for a full house.

Soon after, Peter Chan raised to 26,000 first to act, and Salter three-bet shoved from the button to force a fold.

Over on table one, Wai Kin Yong did so as well after Devan Tang had opened to 25,000. "I am not calling, I just want to know the amount," Tang added. Yong was at risk for around 20 big blinds, and Tang folded.

The Short Stacks are Getting Shallow

Level 12 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Wai Kin Yong three-bet shoved into another open raise by Devan Tang and got through with it while Jack Salter and especially Phil Ivey take advantage of the short-handed play and short-stacked table line up.

Ivey raised the button and Pratyush Buddiga defended the big blind. Buddiga check-called a bet of 20,000 on the {K-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{7-Hearts} flop, before the {4-Clubs} turn went check, check. On the {2-Spades} river, Buddiga checked and folded to a bet worth 50,000 by Ivey.

Table two is mainly dominated by Bryn Kenney once again, who is closing in on the million mark, Sergio Aido and Daniel Colman remain above that.

Aldemir and Juanda Double; Yong and Seidel Left Short

Level 12 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Koray Aldemir was involved in a battle of the blinds with Wai Kin Yong and the defending champion had limped in, Aldemir checked. Yong bet the {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} flop for 14,000 and Aldemir called before doing so again on the {K-Clubs} turn for 50,000. Yong then checked the {5-Spades} river and Aldemir moved all in.

Yong tank-called and mucked when Aldemir showed {J-Hearts}{10-Spades} for the nut straight, the German doubled for 214,000.

Yong doubled through Yu Liang one hand later for his last 44,000 with {K-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} versus {9-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}, dodging a flush draw.

Over on table three, John Juanda pushed for his last 147,000 on the button and Erik Seidel called in the big blind.

John Juanda: {K-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}
Erik Seidel: {K-Spades}{J-Diamonds}

The board came {K-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{8-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} and Juanda once again escaped, has used three of his cat lives thus far.

Yong Doubles Through Cates

Level 13 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

The action folded all the way around to Dan Cates in the small blind and he pushed into short stack Wai Kin Yong. The defending champion of this very event from November 2016 checked his cards face up, showing {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}, and Cates joked "you can still fold."

Yong obviously called and Cates turned over his {A-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}.

The board came {6-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{4-Hearts}{2-Spades}{K-Clubs} and Yong found a double.

Big Double for Aldemir

Level 13 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Devan Tang raised to 24,000 and Koray Aldemir defended the big blind to see a flop of {6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}. Aldemir checked, Tang continued for 30,000 and called the check-raise of Aldemir to 98,000. On the {Q-Diamonds} turn, Aldemir checked again and Tang now bet 150,000.

This prompted the check-raise all in of Aldemir and Tang called.

Koray Aldemir: {5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}
Devan Tang: {K-Spades}{K-Clubs}

Tang couldn't win the hand anymore, making the {9-Hearts} river a formality. Aldemir doubled up for 560,000 and soon after also took down a three-bet pot against Dan Cates to join the chip leaders.

Chip and a Chair for Liang

Level 13 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Yu Liang open-shoved from the small blind and Devan Tang called all in from the big blind with the slightly inferior stack.

Devan Tang: {K-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}
Yu Liang: {Q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

The roller coaster board of {10-Spades}{4-Clubs}{8-Spades}{9-Hearts}{K-Clubs} saw Liang improve on the flop only for Tang to regain the lead on the river. Tang doubled for 139,000 and Liang was left with just over one big blind.
