Badziakouski Forces Out Lamb

Level 2 : 0/0, 1,000 ante

Mikita Badziakouski raised to 7,000 in the first position and Ben Lamb called in the cutoff. Button Wai Kin Yong came along and they saw the {K-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{J-Spades} hit the felt. Badziakouski continued for 6,000 and only Lamb stuck around, calling.

The {K-Diamonds} landed on the turn and Badziakouski barreled for 17,000. He had only {A-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} and Lamb held the same hand, peeling {A-Spades}{10-Diamonds}. Lamb couldn't find a way to continue to the river and gave up.

Lamb Picking Up Quickly, Gets a Bluff Through

Level 2 : 0/0, 1,000 ante

Kenneth Kee limped under the gun with {A-Clubs}{6-Clubs} Ben Lamb called from the hijack with {8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} while Yong called as well with {J-Clubs}{9-Spades}. Badziakouski was on the button with {J-Diamonds}{8-Spades} and checked his option.

The flop was {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}{6-Hearts} and all four players checked.

The turn was the {A-Diamonds} and Kee put out a bet of 2,000 while Lamb raised to 10,000. Everyone else folded and action was back on Kee. He thought for a bit then folded and Lamb took down the pot.

Lamb is off to a quick start in one of his first short deck ante only tournaments ever, picking up the game relatively quickly.

Kee Hits Superior Flush

Level 2 : 0/0, 1,000 ante

Mikita Badziakouski limped in the cutoff with {K-Hearts}{6-Spades} and Kenneth Kee checked his options with {A-Spades}{7-Hearts}.

The {7-Spades}{10-Spades}{K-Spades} gave Badziakouski a top pair and a flush draw while Kee had the nut flush draw. Badziakouski check-called 2,000 and the {8-Spades} turn filled both players' draws.

The betting round was checked and the {6-Clubs} completed the board. Badziakouski checked to Kee who fired a small bet of 3,000. Badziakouski threw in calling chips and smiled when he saw Kee turn over the ace-high flush.

Warm Welcome for Chidwick

Level 3 : 0/0, 2,000 ante
Stephen Chidwick
Stephen Chidwick

Stephen Chidwick had never played a hand of short deck poker before taking his seat here in Jeju but his first experience with the dynamic game was the best imaginable.

Chidwick peeled {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs} in the cutoff, facing a limp from Ben Lamb and a shove of 72,000 from Wai Kin Yong. Chidwick looked him up and found himself dominating Yong's {J-Spades}{9-Clubs}.

The board ran out {7-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{8-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} and Chidwick's tens held to help him nearly double his belongings right off the bat. Yong fired another bullet and continued with 100,000.

Badziakouski Tank-Calls to Double

Level 3 : 0/0, 2,000 ante

Mikita Badziakouski limped with {J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}, Stephen Chidwick overlimped with {Q-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} and Wai Kin Yong checked, holding {10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}.

Badziakouski flopped a middle set on {7-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{A-Clubs} and he fired 10,000. Chidwick had no furhter business in the hand but Yong called with a gutter.

The {A-Hearts} gave Badziakouski a boat but both players checked. The {9-Clubs} river filled the flush draw from the flop and Badziakouski fired a pot-sized bet of 36,000. Yong decided to turn his straight into a bluff and raised all in for 86,000 effective. Badziakouski was puzzled and tanked for three minutes before tossing in calling chips.

"You have a full house?" Yong asked, knowing that he was about to concede the pot. Badziakouski turned up his jacks full and doubled to 208,000.

Action from Secondary Table

Level 3 : 0/0, 2,000 ante

Hand #1: On the turn of {6-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{Q-Spades}, Chow Hing Yaung was all in for 44,000 with {10-Spades}{8-Diamonds} against Yee Leow Seng's {K-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}. Chow was drawing slim but he got there on the {J-Clubs} river and doubled up.

Hand #2: Ivan Leow and Wai Leong Chan were all in preflop with Leow's {A-Spades}{10-Clubs} trailing Chan's {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}. The board, however, gave Leow a superior straight as it rolled out {K-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{7-Hearts}. Leow moved up to 200,000 while Chan was left with just 28,000.

Hand #3: Leow and Chan were all in again with the turn reading {9-Hearts}{6-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{A-Spades} and Chan was ahead one more time. He had flopped a set of sixes with {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} and Leow could only hope to catch an eight for a straight as he held {J-Clubs}{7-Clubs}. The {A-Clubs} river stayed with Chan and he doubled his 83,000.
