Simmons Knocks Out Jennings

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Alex Jennings
Alex Jennings

After the previous table broke, Alex Jennings was moved and ended up in the big blind shortly after with a stack of around 120,000. He faced an open raise by Raul Lozano and the button three-bet by Paul Simmons to rip it in, forcing a fold from Lozano. Simmons only then realized how few chips Jennings had left and called.

Alex Jennings: {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}
Paul Simmons: {k-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}

The {k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} flop gave Simmons the top pair and flush draw. No magic followed for Jennings as the board completed with the {4-Spades} turn and {6-Clubs} river. While the hand played out, Richard Essex also ran out of chips on a different table.

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Alexios Zervos
Alexios Zervos

Heads-up to the {k-Clubs}{10-Spades}{8-Clubs} flop the fireworks kicked off between Nikolay Ponomarev and Rickie Vedhara with the latter ending up at risk for more than 400,000.

Rickie Vedhara: {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}
Nikolay Ponomarev: {q-Spades}{j-Spades}

The {7-Clubs} turn changed nothing and the {7-Diamonds} river paired up Vedhara to score a massive double.

Ponomarev had some 70,000 left and got those in as Vedhara jammed from on seat over. Alexios Zervos came along with the second biggest stack of the trio involved for 271,000 behind.

Nikolay Ponomarev: {k-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}
Rickie Vedhara: {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}
Alexios Zervos: {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}

The next large pot ran out in favour of Zervos on the {8-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{8-Spades}{5-Hearts} board as Ponomarev was knocked out in 39th place.

Speranzoni Felts Eminoglu

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Yucel Eminoglu
Yucel Eminoglu

Following an open raise by Alberto Speranzoni, it was the table short stack Yucel Eminoglu who three-bet jammed for 106,000 out of the small blind and Speranzoni instantly called.

Yucel Eminoglu: {q-Spades}{j-Spades}
Alberto Speranzoni: {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}

The "Mad Turk" asked for plenty of high cards but the {9-Spades}{7-Clubs}{2-Clubs} flop gave Speranzoni a set. However, the {10-Spades} turn provided a huge double draw. The escape was not meant to be as a blank {a-Clubs} river followed to knock Eminoglu out in 32nd place.

Hasson Halted by Speranzoni

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Ori Hasson
Ori Hasson

Alberto Speranzoni raised it up from under the gun and Ori Hasson defended the big blind. Following the {9-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} flop, Hasson check-called a small bet and the {q-Hearts} followed on the turn. Hasson checked again and Speranzoni bet 70,000.

The check-shove of Hasson followed for 189,000 and Speranzoni asked for a count before making the call with the slightly superior stack.

Ori Hasson: {q-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}
Alberto Speranzoni: {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts}

The live card and gutshot got there when the {k-Clubs} struck on the river, sending Hasson to the rail in 30th place.

Benjamin Lehrer Eliminated in 24th Place (£3,387)

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Benjamin Lehrer - Joshua Boulton
Benjamin Lehrer - Joshua Boulton

The action started with a button raise by Benjamin Lehrer and Joshua Boulton three-bet the small blind for Lehrer to call. As they headed to the {q-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{2-Spades} flop, Boulton continued for 80,000 and Lehrer came along to the {7-Spades} turn.

Boulton now checked and Lehrer bet 125,000 with the effective stack. The check-shove by Boulton for 685,000 followed and Lehrer gave it some 20 seconds before making the call.

Benjamin Lehrer: {q-Hearts}{10-Hearts}
Joshua Boulton: {a-Spades}{4-Diamonds}

The wheel draw and nut flush draw of Boulton had plenty of outs and one of them came on the {10-Spades} river to eliminate Lehrer in 24th place for £3,387.

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Raul Lozano
Raul Lozano

Raul Lozano had returned from the break as the shortest stack and pushed all-in for 250,000 from an early position. Robert Boon moved all-in over the top and the rest of the table got out of the way.

Raul Lozano: {a-Hearts}{10-Spades}
Robert Boon: {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}

No paint card appeared on the {7-Spades}{6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} flop and the {5-Spades} turn opened some split opportunities with a potential straight on the board. However, the {q-Diamonds} river changed nothing whatsoever and Lozano was eliminated in 23rd place for £3,895.

Alberto Speranzoni Eliminated in 22nd Place (£3,895)

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Alberto Speranzoni
Alberto Speranzoni

Alex Whitenstall moved all-in once to steal the blinds and antes. He then raised to 40,000 and Antoine Saout eyeballed his stack before making it 110,000 to go from one seat over. Out of the big blind, Alberto Speranzoni also checked Whitenstall's stack, who counted it out, and the Italian then moved all-in for around 650,000.

Whitenstall folded and Saout snap-called.

Alberto Speranzoni: {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}
Antoine Saout: {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}

Speranzoni knew even before he rolled over the cards that his pocket pair was dominated. The {k-Spades}{5-Spades}{4-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{3-Hearts} board delivered no help and that spelled the end for Speranzoni in 22nd place for £3,895.

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Raymond Caabay
Raymond Caabay

Raymond Caabay was the far shortest stack on his table and waited for a spot to get the chips in. Some six and a half blinds were at his disposal in the cutoff and that's when he jammed. Dongze Hao in the big blind glanced at his cards and snap-called when it was his turn to act.

Raymond Caabay: {7-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}
Dongze Hao: {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}

Caabay spiked an open-ender on the {10-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{4-Spades} flop to have a guaranteed chance at survival no matter what the next card were. The turn was the {a-Clubs} and the {5-Spades} river send Caabay to the payout desk to collect £3,895 for the efforts.

Alex Whitenstall Eliminated in 20th Place (£4,477)

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Alex Whitenstall
Alex Whitenstall

Antoine Saout opened the action with a raise from under the gun to get called by Alex Whitenstall. The flop fell {10-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} and Whitenstall checked, Saout bet 35,000 and the check-raise for one third of Whitenstall's remaining stack.

The shove by Saout was then called by Whitenstall to create the following showdown.

Alex Whitenstall: {q-Hearts}{6-Hearts}
Antoine Saout: {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}

Whitenstall's pair and flush draw was up against aces with the nut heart blocker. No help came along on the {7-Spades} turn and the {7-Clubs} river ensured that the rich got richer. Whitenstall's exit in 20th place comes with a payday of £4,477.
