The Blain Game

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

Pratik Ghatge raised to 800 preflop, Ian Cordts made the call and Dermot Blain moved all in for about 6,200.

Ghatge folded and Cordts quickly made the call.

Cordts: {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts}
Blain: {K-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}

The board came {9-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} and the Full Tilt Ambassador doubled up to stay alive.

Sidhu Cracks Geilich's Aces

Level 6 : 300/600, 75 ante

We didn't catch the action, but we did see the dealer pushing a sizable pot to Kuljinder Sidhu, who had just doubled through Ludovic Geilich. The former had held {9-}{9-} and managed to hit a set to crack the latter's {A-}{A-}.

In the very next hand, Geilich shoved his last 3,625 all in under the gun and received a call from Chris Day on the button.

Geilich: {a-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}
Day: {5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}

According to the learn.PokerNews.com Odds Calculator, Day was the 55.45% favorite, but he was essentially flipping as Geilich's two overs would win 44.10% of the time.

The {9-Spades}{3-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} flop was kind to Day as his fives were still good; in fact, they had a 76.45% chance of winning the hand. The {9-Diamonds} turn meant Geilich needed either an ace or seven to stay alive, but one of those would only come 13.64% of the time. Fortunately for the German, this was one such time as the dealer burned and put out the {7-Hearts}.

Here are counts for the two players as well as those for the other players at Table 10:

Burland Picks His Spots

Level 6 : 300/600, 75 ante

Michael Farrelly opened for 900 and was raised by Martin Stausholm to 1,100. Jamie Burland saw an opening and shoved his entire stack over the line.

“How much is it?” Farrelly asked. He got the count, 9,000 exactly.

“And how much have you got?” Farrelly asked Stausholm.

Stausholm spread his arms to let him have a count. It was enough to cover him. Farrelly was between a rock and a hard place with what looked like a borderline decision. A few calculations later he released his hand.

Stausholm too folded. Farrelly took the Lord’s name in vain under his breath and shook his head.

That’s ten Hail Marys for you Michael Farrelly.

Lindop Crashes Out

Level 6 : 300/600, 75 ante

Alex Lindop had been nursing a short stack for a while, shoving all-in in the right spots to steal the blinds and antes. He was keeping alive but he knew his hopes were dwindling.

The table chat revealed that the other players knew it too. A beer on the table beside Lindop provoked some friendly teasing from Christopher Day on his right about “Beer goggles.”

When Lindop’s latest shove was called by Elior Sion he exclaimed “Uh oh.” But he wasn’t in as bad shape as he feared.

Lindop’s {Q-Spades}{j-Diamonds} was up against Sion’s {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}

The board ran out {9-Spades}{10-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{5-Spades}{10-Diamonds} and Lindop was busted.

When asked if he was going to rebuy he picked up his beer and replied, “No I don’t think so. It’s a bit late.”

Never mind Alex, head to the bar, you deserve it.

Blain Back In

Level 6 : 300/600, 75 ante

Dermot Blain is back above his starting stack after his pocket kings finished off Ian Cordts' short-stacked holding of {A-}{4-}. Blain chortled, "Almost enough chips to start spewing again!"

Elsewhere, Chris Day is above 50,000 after eliminating Ludovic Geilich with {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds} against {9-Clubs}{5-Clubs}.

Salter's Day is Done

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

We missed the exact action, but we do know that Jack Salter was just sent to the rail by Chris Day. The former, who had been nursing a short stack much of the evening, committed the last of his chips preflop with {a-}{8-} only to run into Day's {A-}{9-}. Salter couldn't improve and his tournament came to an end.

That said, it looks like his night is just getting started as he made his way over to the adjacent tent to enjoy a bear and listen to the music. It's definitely transformed into a party here in the Players' Lounge.

Blind Battle

Level 6 : 300/600, 75 ante

A 32,000 chip pot changed hand after Anaras Alekberovas and William Ranulf Dorey got into a preflop raising war blind on blind. Dorey made the final shove and the Lithuanian called after a couple of minutes with {J-Hearts}{J-Spades} to find he had the Irishman dominated - the latter flipped {9-Clubs}{9-Spades}.

The board came {Q-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{10-Spades}{5-Hearts}{7-Spades} and the pot went the way of Alekberovas.

See You Next Weekes

Level 6 : 300/600, 75 ante

Ireland's Paul Weekes shoved all in under the fun for his last 8,250 and cleared the field to Kyle Maguire on the button. The Scot made the call, both blinds folded and the cards were turned on their backs.

Weekes: {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs}
Maguire: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}

Weekes seemed to know that he was in trouble and in need of some help, and while the {3-Clubs}{4-Spades}{j-Diamonds} flop provided little, the {10-Clubs} turn gave him some hope to a flush. Maguire watched intently as the dealer burned and put out the {10-Diamonds}. It was a safe card for him and the end of the Full Tilt Poker UKIPT Galway Festival High Roller for Weekes.

Stausholm Done and Dusted

Level 6 : 300/600, 75 ante

After Niall Farrell opened for 1,300 under the gun, Martin Stausholm three-bet to 3,000 from the button. Jan Przysucha then four-bet jammed for 26,225 from the small blind, Farrell folded and Stausholm made a quick call.

Stausholm: {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}
Przysucha: {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

"Oh my god," Przysucha said when the {7-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{9-Spades} flop gave his opponent the lead with a set. The {5-Spades} river failed to change a thing and it looked like Przysucha was going to exit on a bad beat. Fortunately for him, that didn't happen as the {8-Hearts} spiked on the river to deliver him salvation. He made his straight to double through while Stausholm was left with just 1,600.

A short time later, Farrell opened from the cutoff and then called when Stausholm shoved his last little bit from the big blind. Farrell showed the {q-Clubs}{j-Spades} and Stausholm said he'd only looked at the {4-Clubs}, which he turned over. The dealer allowed the one-card sweat and put out the flop... {8-Spades}{6-Hearts}{4-Spades}.

"That's a good flop for you," Farrell said with a smile. Indeed it was as no matter what Stausholm was out in front. His excitement disappeared as soon as the {J-Hearts} gave Farrell the lead with a pair of jacks, and then dwindled even further when the {8-Diamonds} river paired the board. "That's a bad card for you," Farrell chimed.

Stausholm then turned over the {3-Hearts}, rapped the table and then exited the tournament floor.
