Myers Eliminates Galloway

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

Anthony Galloway had raised to 6,000 preflop and was deliberating what to do when Daniel Myers set him all in from the big blind. Galloway eventually called off his stack with {A-Clubs}{9-Spades} but Myers turned over a dominating {A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} - the latter held on a board that read {4-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{6-Hearts}.

Big Jesse

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante
Jesse O'Shea
Jesse O'Shea

Jesse O'Shea just won the classic 57-43 flip after he shoved over the top of Tom Hall's initial raise for around 45,000. Katja Svendsen then reshoved behind him and Hall said to O'Shea, "I was calling you..."

O'Shea: {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs}
Svendsen: {A-Spades}{K-Spades}

The board came {8-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{8-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{3-Clubs} and O'Shea's queens hung on to double up. Svendsen was left with 50,000 afterwards.

Blain Away

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante
Dermot Blain
Dermot Blain

Full Tilt Poker Ambassador Dermot Blain seems to be an expert at hanging on in there where others would have long ago hot the rail. His short stack skills were not enough to save him however when he ran {a-}{9-} into Ludovic Geilich’s {k-}{k-}. The man who likes to play any two cards picked up two of the best to send Blain out short of the money.

Little Bit Of Luck

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

With ten players still to be eliminated before they are on the bubble sometimes you need a little bit of luck when you’re getting short. Gary Lawther from Ireland found his when he shoved his last 28,400 with {j-Spades}{7-Diamonds} and was called by the Shahid Hussain with {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}. The cards ran out {7-Clubs}{7-Spades}{6-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{k-Clubs} and Lawther escaped the noose.

Donald Rae-Gunned

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Donald Rae had been the chip leader after Day 1A but he was crippled a short while ago and pushed his last couple of big blinds in with {Q-Clubs}{J-Spades}. He was called by the blinds who checked down a {2-}{2-}{10-}{4-}{K-} board, Rae thought he had a chance with {Q-Clubs}{J-Spades} but one of the blinds turned over {A-Spades}{9-Clubs} to win the pot.

Newport Shown the Exit

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Josef Snejberg opened the action and it folded round to Nicholas Newport who had a peek at his cards and saw the beautiful {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}. He was all in and the red triangle was thrown towards him. Snejberg made the call and had more chips than Newport and a better hand with {k-Clubs}{k-Spades}.

The board ran out {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} and to a chorus of “Unlucky.” Newport made the lonely walk to the door without the need to stop at the pay-out desk.
