Game Over for Rozema

Level 5 : 300/600, 100 ante

The day of Jonathan Rozema can only be described as roller coaster. Three times he went to a short stack, twice he was able to recover. The third attempt with 15 big blinds and pocket tens ended abruptly as Jan Czajkowski held pocket aces and the board ran out dry.

Tripodi and Sitbon Sitting Well

Level 5 : 300/600, 100 ante

Julien Sitbon continues to do well after a bet worth 11,000 on the river of a {K-Spades}{2-Spades}{8-Spades}{6-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} was called by Gregory Luttke. The latter mucked when he was shown the {K-Clubs}{Q-Spades} and Sitbon may soon crack six digits. Another Frenchman with decent stack is Clement Tripodi not far behind.

Kleiven the Table Captain

Level 5 : 300/600, 100 ante

After the river of a {7-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{8-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} board, Michal Kanarkiewicz bet 15,000 into a pot of only 10,000 and immediately faced the all in of Joachim Kleiven. The Norwegian had the far bigger stack and eventually enforced a fold to claim up 95,000 chips as his new stack.

The Seat Open Keep Coming In

Level 5 : 300/600, 100 ante

Marcus Holstei, who had a decent start in the first two levels, is among the latest list of eliminated players as only 147 out of 182 remain. Some pre-registered players that didn't show up yet were removed and the same applied for the stacks of Michal Mrakes, Charles Bonnet and Zoltan Kapitany.

"Just my luck"

Level 5 : 300/600, 100 ante

He did it again. In the showdown after the {9-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{5-Hearts} flop when Faycal Bensidhoum got the remainder of his less-than 20 big blind stack in, Joachim Kleiven said "just my luck" when entering the showdown with the better hand. The Norwegian had the {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} and Bensidhoum only flipped over {7-Spades}{5-Spades}. Both the {3-Spades} turn and {A-Diamonds} river blanked and the Frenchman quickly departed with his media ID.

Only one minute later, Olivier Faure busted another short stack in Cedric Angosto with {Q-Hearts}{J-Clubs} versus {3-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} preflop. The board ran out {7-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} and Angosto left smiling, fully aware that it had been too many outs to dodge after the flop.

It Was Suited

Level 5 : 300/600, 100 ante

It has not really been a pleasant day at the office for Jonathan Rozema thus far. He scored a double up when he was down to less than 10,000 to get back up to 16,000 in the previous level but the same downfall happened again. And there was a deja vu.

In a limped pot, the Dutchman bet the {K-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{5-Clubs} flop and then moved all in for his last 6,100 on the {Q-Clubs} turn. Kalju Kratovits gave it some thought on the button but folded, then Francois Loic made the call out of the big blind with the {6-Clubs}{4-Clubs}. Rozema had a flush draw as well with the {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs} and doubled up with a straight thanks to the {J-Diamonds} river.

The Ace-King Hand

Level 5 : 300/600, 100 ante

Pierre Menes didn't go broke preflop with ace-king versus pocket aces, but rather on the flop after calling a four-bet to 7,000 according to Julien Sitbon. It was the latter that pushed him all in after a flop of {3-}{4-}{7-} with two diamonds once Menes had bet 6,000 out of the big blind with much behind.

Teisseire Bust

Level 5 : 300/600, 100 ante
Antonin Teisseire
Antonin Teisseire

Antonin Teisseire was among the shorter stacks in the last break and that fight had come to an end minutes after the restart. It was Franck Boyer who claimed the bustout with {A-}{K-} against the pocket sixes of the fellow Frenchman.

Some Counts for Level 5

Stache's Move Goes Wrong

Level 4 : 200/400, 75 ante
Fabian Stache
Fabian Stache

In the very last hand before going into the break, while pretty much all tables were already done, Fabian Stache was still involved in a big pot and the move of the Belgian went terribly wrong. On the {K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{A-Spades} turn, Stache had checked in the cutoff and Kleiven fired 7,000.

Stache stared at his opponent for some time and then announced all in for his last 20,200 chips. Kleiven snapped him off in under one second and the Belgian knew he was screwed, the expression in the face spoke more than a thousand words. Stache only had the {5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} and Kleiven flipped over {Q-Clubs}{J-Clubs}.

The Norwegian joked "a five on the river, just my luck" but the dealer burned and turned the {6-Clubs} instead. Seat open!
