Cleaning Up the Counts

Level 6 : 400/800, 100 ante

In the past half an hour, several notables have been sent to the rail. Dominique Terzian, Arnaud Peyroles and Jerome Zerbib were among them while Jean Loup Didier just now busted. And then we walked past the table of Johan Nilsson when the Swede got it in with {K-}{Q-} against {A-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}. There was a ten and queen on the flop, the {A-Clubs} appeared on the river.

Naim Shorter

Level 6 : 400/800, 100 ante

Remy Luberspere opened to 1,600 and former early big stack Boutros Naim moved all in, sliding his few small chip denominations forward. Luberspere asked for a count and it was 10,800 to call, resulting in a fold. Seconds later, the {K-Clubs}{J-Clubs} were flashed towards the middle of the table.

Bigger Stacks Across the Room

Level 6 : 400/800, 100 ante

Van Brabander back to Start

Level 6 : 400/800, 100 ante

Charlotte van Brabander has grinded her stack back to where she started in level one while Frank from the Dutch blog has noticed the elimination of Jerry de Vries.

Since the loss with a pair of tens against the quads of Jean Montury, Malek Grabsi hasn't won any hand and dropped to 15,000 himself, seemingly unhappy with his tournament approximately two meters away from our media desk.

Table 9 Cracks Up

Level 6 : 400/800, 100 ante

Aliaksandr Bushayeu and [Removed:247] clashed in a preflop all in and both held pocket kings. The Belorussian was freerolling with the {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds} and picked up a flush draw on the {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{6-Spades} turn, but the {6-Hearts} river bricked.

One hand later, [Removed:250] had pocket queens and spiked a set on the flop, made quads on the turn. "You believe me now?" the Frenchman joked and Jussi Heikels laughed back "I always believe you". Run better ...

The tower of chips has already reached his chin, if we were to guess it shall be around 200,000 in chips.

Picking Up Speed Once Again

Level 6 : 400/800, 100 ante

The level change, closing of one table and busting out around 10 players that all joined the rail very recently brought a little bit of chaos into the tournament area, as two tables also required the guidance of the floor as well. Everything was swiftly sorted out though and as soon as the dust had settled, the screens showed just 160 players remaining.

Among those to depart were Franck Kalfon and Jessy Marillaud. The latter was spotted on the rail and he said he failed to improve with {7-Hearts}{8-Hearts} versus {6-}{5-} on a flop of {5-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{7-}. Too many outs syndrome can be quite severe.

Level 5 : 300/600, 100 ante

An almost exactly similar situation happened on table 13 with Alekxandr Lebedev calling a three-bet without noticing the shove of a short stack in between. The Russian forfeited his chips and mucked sevens while Mehmet Ongurur looked up Sebastien Bailet with the {8-Hearts}{8-Spades}.

Bailet was at risk with the {A-Hearts}{K-Spades} and the board ran out {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{5-Spades}.

"The King of Poker"

Level 5 : 300/600, 100 ante

The full action is unknown, but it is certain that the chips went to [Removed:247]. After some heavy preflop action, the Frenchman from under the gun and Daniyel Destici then checked the {7-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} flop. On the {4-Hearts} turn, [Removed:250] grabbed enough chips to push his opponent all in and the Swede had a decision ahead.

"Impossible to fold. If you fold, you are the king of poker," [Removed:250] said and then called time on his opponent shortly after. "Okay I call," Destici said before the floor could arrive and then turned over his {8-Spades}{8-Hearts} for his last 21,300 chips. [Removed:250] had that beat with {K-Hearts}{10-Clubs} and the blank {Q-Diamonds} completed the board.

The Frenchman also three-bet shortly after when a newly arrived player opened and called the shove of a short stack. The situation was more tricky though, as the new player had called the three-bet to 3,800 but never saw the shove of the shortie ... . It was ruled that he can call or fold but must forfeit the 3,800 chips already invested either way.

[Removed:250] lost the heads-up pot against the shortie with {K-Spades}{5-Diamonds} versus {A-Hearts}{2-Hearts}.

Almost 50 Seat Open

Level 5 : 300/600, 100 ante

Half time has not been reached yet and the screens show 183 out of 231 players remaining. Floor staff has verified the confirmed entries during the last break and in four and a half levels, almost 50 participants have ran out of chips entirely. Among recent notables to depart were Charly Grenet and Quentin Laugt, the latter knocked out Daniel Chutrov earlier and now shares the same fate.

The final number may still be corrected slightly though, as the stacks of the qualifiers that didn't show up were not put in play.
