Hecklen and Agerskov Still in Contention, Bogdan Leads

Level 20 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Henrik Hecklen

The second day of the 2015 Unibet Open Copenhagen, a tournament that attracted 404 entrants (slightly less than 2014 when Frederik Jensen defeated 405 players to grab the DKK 625,000 first-place prize), started with 137 players and a quest to get to the money and final 16. The first goal would be reached, but the second was a bit too much to ask for with only 10 levels of play.

It took six levels to get to the bubble, but efore anyone in the Radisson Blu Scandinavia Hotel in Denmark could realistically think about making the money, a whole lot of layers had to forfeit their stacks and hit the rail.

One of those unfortunate souls would be Mike Hill. Unibet Open London's runner-up started the day with a more than reasonable stack but saw those chips disappear before the first break. Losing two all-ins before the flop with pocket aces can do that to even the toughest of players.

Another Unibet Open regular who had to depart long before the money stage commenced was Dur, though we might mention we're talking about Frenchman Francois Dur and not Tom "durrrr" Dwan here. Dur got it in with {k-}{10-}, was up against {a-}{10-}, and couldn't come from behind.

Long before the bubble even loomed, Rasmus Agerskov started building his stack. The Dane was already up to 500,000 in chips and added another 100,000 when he busted Dutchman Johan Goslings in a big coin flip with eights against ace-king.

When the dinner break started, the tournament was down to 48 players with 45 reaching the money. Paulo Rodrigues from the Netherlands, who made the final table at the Unibet Open in both St Maarten and London, was one of the unfortunate players who spent 60 minutes eating his dinner comfortably, only to leave the tournament empty handed shortly after the break when he ran {a-}{9-} suited into aces.

Rodrigues busting in 47th place wasn't the official bubble though, that dubious honor went to Soren Bilsgaard, who was down to less than two big blinds and called all in with {k-}{4-}. Neighbor Johan Espholm had {a-}{q-} and triumphed with an ace on the flop.

As expected a lot of players fell right after the bubble. Regular Nickolas Storm, who presumably played more Unibet Open tournaments than anyone else, started the day well — "A Storm is Coming" was the headline when his set of fives held versus Zoran Mitic's top pair and flush draw early on the day — but he wouldn't last in the long run, ultimately finishing in 38th place for €2,011.

Players fell left and right over the course of two hours of in-the-money play, and at that point play came to an end with 25 players remaining.

Those 25 players are guaranteed €2,815 and will continue play at 1 p.m. local time tomorrow. With still 25 players in the tournament, tomorrow will be a long day as the Unibet Open Copenhagen will play down to a winner, who will receive DKK 620,000 (€83,115). The reporting and live stream will be on a two-hour delay, so expect reporting and viewing pleasure at 3 p.m.

Here's the table draw for the third and final day. As you can see, Bogdan Petrescu leads the way, but highly experienced Danish players Henrik Hecklen and Rasmus Agerskov are still in contention:

Soren Bilsgaard Bubbles Unibet Open Copenhagen

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Soren Bilsgaard
Soren Bilsgaard

Action folded to Johan Espholm in the small blind. Epsholm had a huge stack but his neighbor Soren Bilsgaard had only slightly more than the big blind he had already committed. Epsholm shoved all in and Bilsgaard called it of for the quarter of a big blind he had behind.

Johan Espholm: {A-Spades}{Q-Spades}
Soren Bilsgaard: {K-Spades}{4-Hearts}

The flop gave both a piece with {A-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{8-Clubs} and the {9-Hearts} fell on the turn soon enough. Bilsgaard needed a king or four to stay alive, but wouldn't be so lucky; {3-Spades} on the river.

Soren Bilsgaard shook hands with all the players at the table and made his exit as the last player not receiving the minimum pay out of €2,011. The remaining 45 players are in the money!

Paulo Rodrigues Eliminated in 47th Place

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Paulo Rodrigues
Paulo Rodrigues

Jouny Hanna opened for 22,000 from middle position and two positions down it was Dutch Unibet Open London and Sint Maarten final tablist Paulo Rodrigues who shoved all in for 45,000. Action folded to Ievgen Zhadan in the small blind who also shoved all in. Hanna folded.

Ievgen Zhadan: {A-Spades}{A-Clubs}
Paulo Rordirgues: {A-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}

Rail bird Johan Goslings asked for diamonds but they wouldn't get any on the flop. Rodrigues did find some help though on {9-Spades}{4-Hearts}{Q-Clubs} and prayed for another nine.

It wouldn't come.

The {K-Spades} on the turn was a blank and so was the {6-Clubs} on the river.

Paulo Rodrigues eliminated in 47th place, so not another final table for the Dutchman.

Sivagnanam Hits a Full House

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Mohanathas Sivagnanam
Mohanathas Sivagnanam

Sidsel Boesen opened under the gun to 10,000 and action folded to Mohanathas Sivagnanam in the cutoff who three bet to 21,000. The button and both blinds folded, Boesen made the call.

Boesen check called a bet of 27,000 on {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{6-Spades}, and check called another 32,000 on the {Q-Hearts} turn.

The river came the {K-Diamonds} and Boesen checked for the third time. Sivagnanam thought about it for about ten seconds before sighing and checking behind with a loud knock on the table.

Boesen showed {J-Spades}{J-Clubs} but that hand would go straight to the muck as Sivagnanam tabled {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} for a full house.

"I put her on kings from the start" said Sivagnanam to a player who noticeably raised his eyebrows upon witnessing the showdown.

Johansson now Doubles Hanna

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Jouny Hanna was down to 83,500, and got it in before the flop against his old nemesis Andreas Johansson.

Johansson had {J-Clubs}{10-Clubs} while Hanna had {Q-Clubs}{K-Clubs}.

Hanna was already a bit down when the {J-Spades} appeared as the window card, and the {10-Diamonds} that followed wasn't making him particularly happy either, but the {9-Clubs} that accompanied the two other flop cards helped a lot.

The {8-Diamonds} on the turn was effectively a blank and the {Q-Diamonds} on the river didn't make a difference either. Straight for Hanna which doubled him up.

Agerskov Busts Goslings

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Rasmus Agerskov Larsen
Rasmus Agerskov Larsen

Rasmus Agerskov opened to 8,000 from middle position and Johan Goslings right next to him shoved for just about 100,000 in chips. Action folded back to Agerskov who made the call.

Rasmus Agerskov: {8-Hearts}{8-Spades}
Johan Goslings: {A-Clubs}{K-Spades}

The Dutchman needed an ace or king, but instead the flop would come just about as bad as they could for him: {8-Clubs}{7-Spades}{9-Diamonds}.

Goslings needed help on the turn to stay alive, but would instead end up drawing dead: {2-Clubs}.

The {4-Hearts} on the river was there just to make things official and Goslings made his way to the exit while Agerskov started stacking his chips to make one of the biggest chip castles in the room.

Dur Eliminated

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante
Francois Dur
Francois Dur

Francois Dur has been eliminated from the tournament. We just caught him getting it all in from the blinds and Claus Rejnholdt Carlsen was the one looking him up from late position.

Claus Rejnholdt Carlsen: {A-Spades}{10-Diamonds}
Francois Dur: {K-Hearts}{10-Clubs}

Dur had some catching up to do but wouldn't find enough help.

The {9-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{7-Spades} flop gave him some hope of chopping the pot, and the {Q-Spades} on the turn even gave him some additional outs for winning it, but the {Q-Diamonds} on the river was a blank and that meant the end of the road for Dur.

A Storm is Coming

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante
Nicolas Storm
Nicolas Storm

Nickolas Storm opened for 5,500 and Zoran Mitic made the call in position. A player from the blinds over called and the flop came {A-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}.

Action checked to Storm who made a continuation bet. Mitic min raised to 12,000 and the player in the blinds cold called. Storm now pushed all in and Mitic called all in. The player in the blinds folded after some thinking.

Zoran Mitic: {A-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}
Nickolas Storm: {5-Clubs}{5-Spades}

Storm needed to dodge diamonds and was already safe when the {6-Spades} hit the turn. The {3-Spades} on the river was a blank and Storm eliminated Mitic.

Hill Loses with Aces

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Mike Hill
Mike Hill

Peter Lindberg Thomadsen shoved under the gun for what appeared to be 42,500. Right next to him was Mike Hill and the Unibet Open London runner up made the call. Action quickly folded around and Hill tabled {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades}, Lindberg Thomadsen showed {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}.

"One time!" said Lindberg Thomadsen while the dealer put the {2-Hearts}{4-Spades}{J-Clubs} on the flop. The {6-Spades} fell on the turn and was no help to Lindberg Thomadsen yet, but the {9-Diamonds} on the river was.

"Third time actually!" shouted Hill after he slammed his hand on the table, indicating he had already lost a similar situation twice before this tournament. Hill started out with a more than decent stack, but has to come from behind now with just 30 big blinds.
