Quentin Laurentjoye

Alexandre de Zutter doubled up for 83,000 after having pushed from the small blind with the {K-Clubs}{9-Spades}. Catalin Morariu called in the big blind with {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} and saw the board running out {K-Spades}{5-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}.

One table over, Martin Wendt raised to 24,000 from under the gun and fellow Frenchman Quentin Laurentjoye pushed from the cutoff for 245,000. Wendt quickly called and it was a flip for Laurentjoye.

Quentin Laurentjoye: {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}
Martin Wendt: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}

The board ran out {10-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{4-Spades}{9-Spades}{2-Diamonds} and Laurentjoye was eliminated.

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Boszormenyi was at risk with {4-Hearts}{4-Clubs} and Roei Motola held the {A-Hearts}{8-Hearts}. On a board of {A-Spades}{J-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{9-Spades}{5-Spades}, the ace appeared and that sent the Hungarian to the rail.

The Nightmare of de Zutter

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Adrian Bizineche has done it again. He open-shoved the small blind with the {7-Diamonds}{3-Spades} and Alexandre de Zutter called with {Q-Hearts}{8-Hearts}. The board ran out {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{2-Clubs} and the Romanian doubled for the second time with three-seven off suit against de Zutter. The Frenchman was then all in twice without getting called, then had to give up the blinds and antes again.

Linden's Wild Ride

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Catalin Morariu doubled through Jakob Linden after open-shoving for 114,000 with the {Q-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}. Linden called from one seat over with the {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} and the board came up blank showing {A-Spades}{2-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}.

Linden then doubled up his tiny rest with {A-Spades}{7-Spades} against the {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} of Adrian Bizineche when he flushed on the turn before Zoltan Boszormenyi was unable to deal the final blow with {K-Spades}{Q-Spades}. Linden held {A-Spades}{J-Clubs} and made a straight on the board {10-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{9-Hearts}.

Quentin Lecomte

Quentin Lecomte survived the bubble with a short stack and made it through the minefield of the post-bubble explosion. He then just busted in a battle of the blinds with {A-}{3-} versus {A-}{5-}, as the board ensured that the kicker played.

Mariusz Niski, Apostolos Bechrakis, Jeroen van Belzen and Constantin Florin Bitan were all eliminated also.

Malinovski Wins with big Quads

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

The last hand of the previous level provided hefty fireworks, as Nikita Malinovski and Alexandre de Zutter clashed with their big stacks. Malinovski raised, de Zutter three-bet and Malinovski then four-bet to 91,000 to pick up a call.

On the {6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{4-Hearts} flop, Malinovski bet 53,000 and de Zutter called before the {7-Spades} fell on the turn. Malinovski now check-raised from 101,000 to 206,000 and called the push of de Zutter.

Nikita Malinovski: {A-Spades}{6-Spades}
Alexandre de Zutter: {A-Hearts}{K-Spades}

the {6-Clubs} river even gave the Russian quads and he doubled for massive 451,000, leaving de Zutter short.
