Level 23 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Mate Mecs
Mate Mecs

From early position, Mate Mecs goes all-in with {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}. Mecs takes down the hand with everyone folding due to the other players not getting any hands to call and Mecs playing tightly with his short-stack.

Mecs All-In Again

Level 23 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

The action folds around to Nicolas Cardyn on the button who raises to 85,000 chips with {q-Diamonds}{j-Spades}. Mate Mecs goes all-in for 550,000 chips from the big blind with {4-Clubs}{4-Spades}. Cardyn folds and Mecs now has his stack up to 695,000 with blinds about to go up to 25,000/50,000 with a 5,000 ante.

Level 24 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

The action began with Akos Gergely raising to 110,000 from the hi-jack with {k-Hearts}{q-Clubs}. Mecs from the small blind with {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} three-bet jams all-in for 690,000 chips or a little less than 12 big blinds. Gergely calls setting up a coin-flip situation.

Gergely becomes a 57 percent favorite on the flop of {2-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} with top-pair while with Mecs having 11 outs that potentially could turn things back in his favor. The {7-Diamonds} spikes the turn sealing the deal for Mecs with Gergely now drawing dead to the river.

The {6-Spades} completes the board, shipping a 1,470,000 chip pot to Mecs.

Nicolas Ludwicki Eliminated in Eighth Place (£8,400)

Akos Gergely wanted to raise from mid-position with {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}, but because he only tossed one chip into the pot it was a call. This may have led to an earlier end to the day of Nicolas Ludwicki. Julien Rouxel called from the small blind with {q-Clubs}{j-Hearts} while Ludwicki checked the action to the flop from the big blind with {10-Spades}{2-Hearts}.

Flop: {J-Clubs}{5-Spades}{2-Diamonds}

Rouxel opted to check the flop with top pair. Ludwicki quickly declared himself all-in for 240,000 chips with bottom pair. After Gregely folded and Rouxel called, things looked brighter for Ludwicki as he turned two-pair when the {10-Clubs} appeared. However, Ludwicki's two-pair became counterfeited after the {5-Clubs} spiked the river giving Rouxel a better two-pair.

Ludwicki collected £8,400 for his eighth place finish and all the remaining players are now guaranteed a five-payout with the next spot paying £10,540.

Shallow No Longer Shallow After Doubling Against Khatri

Level 24 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante
David Shallow
David Shallow

Bhavin Khatri opens the action from under-the-gun with {J-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} with a raise to 105,000 chips. The action folds around to David Shallow on the button who three-bet jams all-in for 850,000 chips with {A-Hearts}{10-Hearts}. Action folds back around to Khatri who quickly calls leading us to the flop.

Flop: {2-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}

While Khatri is still ahead on the flop, it becomes more of a coin-flip situation at this point with any heart now also helping Shallow in addition to any of the three remaining aces. The {8-Hearts} completes Shallow's flush-draw. Khatri was drawing dead before the {10-Spades} appeared on the river with Shallow shipping a 1,810,000 pot.
