Orjahn Winther was seen reading a book all day on Day 1, and is still doing it here today on Day 2. Just now we saw Joseph Said open the button and small blind Orjahn Winther three-bet to 17,100 while hardly looking up from his book. Said made the call.
Winther continued to read while the dealer fanned . He grabbed some chips (13,300) and tossed them in. Said made the call. The same happened on the turn; Winther bet 13,500 and Said made the call.
The completed the board and Winther tapped the table. Said did the same and the two showed their cards. Winther had missed with , Said raked in the chips showing .
Winther turned a page like nothing had happened, and continued reading while Said started stacking.
Kristi Kirs (under the gun) and Daniel Thaller (cutoff) got their chips in before the flop. Kirs was the favorite to double her 57,000 stack as she had against .
The board ran out and Kirs doubled.
Thaller in the meantime, was left with just 9,000.
From middle position Martin Wendt made it 12,000 to go and Griffin Benger in the big blind was the sole caller.
The flop came and Benger checked. Wendt made a continuation bet of 14,000 and Benger check raised to 32,000. Wendt shoved all in and Benger called so quick, we didn't have time to make a count on Wendt's push.
Martin Wendt:
Griffin Benger:
The on the turn was a blank but the on the river sure wasn't.
"Unlucky man" said Griffin.
Wendt answered with some not too kind sounding Danish words while leaving the table.
From early position Griffin Benger made it 10,500. Johan Goslings flatted right behind him, and so did Sami Pullianen from the cutoff.
Glenn Marcher shoved from the small blind for 66,000 and the big blind folded. Benger asked for a count and folded as well. Goslings now shoved all in and Pullianen folded right away.
Johan Goslings:
Glenn Marcher:
Marcher was already getting up after the flop () and turn () hadn't improved him, but the lucky on the river had him sat down again.
Benger was shaking his head a little, and Marcher asked him why he was doing that. "Because it's a terrible shove. I like you and I want you to stay around, so I'm disappointed."
The two discussed the hand for a bit more, with Marcher telling Benger that he was fine with getting it in on a flip as there was already so much money in the middle. Benger shook his head some more and they went on to the next hand.
From the hijack, Quentin Lecomte shoved all in for 70,000. The cutoff folded but Emil Westerberg on the button called. Both blinds folded.
Quentin Lecomte:
Emil Westerberg:
Lecomte asked for a split after the flop, but the poker gods decided otherwise; on the turn and on the river.
Down to 37 players now, hand for hand will start after all the hands are done. Players are not allowed to get up from their table to look at other tables, and electronic devices are not allowed while hand for hand play is in progress.
We're bringing you this bust out post now, but it happened half an hour ago.
Action folded to Johan Goslings in the cutoff and the Unibet Open regular shoved all in for 101,000. His neighbor Mads Junker shoved for 103,000 and both blinds released.
Johan Goslings:
Mads Junker:
It wasn't a fair fight, despite Griffin Benger announcing to the table that he had not folded any kings or clubs.
The left Goslings hoping for runner runner, but he was drawing dead by the time the hit the turn. The completed the board and Goslings shook hands with Junker and Benger before exiting the tournament area.
From the hijack, Sami Skold raised to 16,000. Small blind Vitalii Belyaev three-bet to 42,000 and the big blind folded. Skold didn't hesitate and shoved all in. Belyaev asked for a count, and said call as soon as the dealer was done counting Skold's 324,000 stack.
Sami Skold:
Vitalii Belyaev:
The flop was a disaster for Belyaev, but the on the turn brightened his day. The completed the board and Skold made his exit.
"Good time for a one-outer!" said someone at the table.
From the cutoff, Vitalii Belyaev made it 18,000 and small blind Irena Macesovic called. The flop came and Macesovic shoved all in for 142,000. Belyaev asked for a count, and called.
Irena Macesovic:
Vitalii Belyaev:
The on the turn was a blank but the ]Kc] on the river wasn't. Macesovic clapped her hands in excitement as she doubled up.
