A full Tournament Room is expected for Day 1b

The second and final starting day of the 10-year anniversary edition of the Unibet Open Main Event kicks off at 11 a.m. local time at the extravagant JW Marriott Bucharest Grand Hotel in the centre of the Romanian capital. December 1st is also the Great Union Day, the national holiday of Romania, and a big field is expected for Day 1b of the €1,100 Main Event.

Day 1a attracted a field of 167 entries of which 39 advanced to Day 2 on Saturday December 2nd 2017 and a much bigger field is expected for today. Amongst others, the defending champion of the event will take his seat in Traian Bostan. The local defeated a 603-entry strong field back in 2016 to lift the trophy and claim a payday of €100,000 in the record-breaking event.

Other notables expected to join the action today are the Unibet Poker ambassadors Ian Simpson, Dara O'Kearney, David Lappin and Rauno Tahvonen along with most participants of the eSports Battle Royale VII and an armada of online and live qualifiers. Same as the previous starting day, a total of 11 levels of 60 minutes each are scheduled and all participants receive 30,000 in chips. There is a break after the levels two, four, six, seven and nine with a 60-minute dinner break after level seven, the registration remains open until the start of level seven as well.

The €2,200 High Roller played down to a winner last night as well and Olvedo Heinze emerged victorious in heads-up against Katsuhiro Muto, having flopped a straight with {7-Hearts}{3-Hearts} versus {10-Clubs}{2-Clubs} on a board of {6-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{3-Spades}{Q-Hearts} to eliminate Muto. Heinze scored a crucial double through Eric Wasylenko with aces versus ace-queen and sent Dorin Rauta to the rail as last man without anything to show for when winning a flip with nines versus ace-jack suited. Heinze entered the final table as the chip leader and took home the lion's share of the €192,060 prize pool in a field of 99 entries.
