Acsinte Vanishes in Two Hands

Level 5 : 300/600, 75 ante
Dan Murariu
Dan Murariu

Christin Maschmann "had her aces cracked," and then got it in with {K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} for a flush draw only for her opponent to make quads on the river for good measure. Michael Farrelly was also among those to bust and Iulian-Ioan Acsinte joined them on the rail.

After a raise to 1,300 by Acsinte and a call by Dan Murariu on the button, Ivan Tononi jammed the small blind for 16,325. Sven “Svennoss” Edelenbosch in the big blind had a decision to make but folded and Acsinte also jammed to force out Murariu.

Ivan Tononi: {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts}
Iulian-Ioan Acsinte: {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}

"The ace of blubs is coming," Tononi predicted. Instead, he got there via runner runner flush on a board of {8-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{8-Hearts} to double for 16,325. Acsinte was left with crumbs and got it in soon after with {K-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}, facing the {A-Spades}{2-Hearts} of Murariu. Acsinte was teased with a {J-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{4-Spades} flop, but the {8-Diamonds} turn and {8-Spades} river were blanks.

Walsh Cracks Aces to Bust McNamara; de Jong Also Falls

Level 5 : 300/600, 75 ante
Luke Walsh
Luke Walsh

The turn showed {J-Hearts}{10-Spades}{4-Clubs}{J-Clubs} and Luke Walsh bet 5,800 from the under-the-gun position, which Declan McNamara called in the cutoff with some 14,000 behind. Walsh quickly shoved the {4-Hearts} on the river and McNamara gave it 15 seconds before splashing in his remaining chips.

Walsh rolled over the {J-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} for a full house and McNamara mucked {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}.

"Nice hand, I would not have gotten you out of the hand anyways how the board was," McNamara shrugged and Walsh nodded.

The very next hand, Walsh was barely done stacking, he was in the big blind and faced Dex de Jong on the button. Again they built a big pot throughout a boars of {J-Clubs}{10-Spades}{9-Spades}{4-Hearts}{3-Hearts} and Walsh moved all in on the river with 40,000 in the middle. Only 20,000 were behind for de Jong and he called it off after some consideration, was shown the {Q-Clubs}{8-Clubs} by Walsh and sent his {Q-Spades}{10-Hearts} into the muck.

Walsh, who already had a decent stack before those two hands, essentially doubled that to rise to the top of the leader board.

Split Dinner Break Underway

Level 6 : 400/800, 100 ante

The tables 1-11 continue playing at new blinds of 400/800 and a running ante of 100, while the tables 18 and higher have been sent into their 75-minute dinner break. During that time, the T-25 chips will get raced off and then the roles will switch to give everyone else the chance to take advantage of the free buffet.

In case you are wondering what the tables 12 to 17 are doing, those are reserved for the ongoing cash game action.

Charmpilas Chips Up

Level 6 : 400/800, 100 ante

Before his table went into the dinner break, a lengthy hand broke out between Periklis Charmpilas and Padraig O'Neill with bets of 3,6000 and 5,500 already pulled in. The completed board showed {A-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} and Charmpilas now made it expensive, tossing in a bet of 15,300.

O'Neill gave it more than two minutes into the dinner break and the clock was called on him, but before tournament director Kenny Hallaert had arrived, O'Neill had already called and mucked as soon as Charmpilas flashed {K-Hearts}{Q-Spades} for the nut straight.
