Boiko Eliminates Montrimas in Two Hands

Level 6 : 200/500, 500 ante

Tomas Montrimas raised it up from under the gun and Iaroslav Boiko re-raised to 3,500 in the small blind. Montrimas called and the flop fell {j-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{2-Hearts}. Boiko led out for 2,500 and Montrimas called.

The turn was the {6-Spades} and both players checked to the {a-Clubs} on the river. Boiko fired out another 2,500 and Montrimas quickly called. Boiko showed {k-Spades}{k-Clubs} and Montrimas conceded.

In the next hand, Kenny Hallaert opened to 1,200 in the hijack and Boiko three-bet to 3,500 on the button. Montrimas shoved all in for 10,800 in the big blind which got Hallaert to fold but Boiko called.

Montrimas was ahead with his {a-Spades}{q-Spades} but Boiko held two live cards with {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}. The flop of {10-Spades}{9-Hearts}{7-Clubs} put Boiko in the lead with a pair of tens and Montrimas was unable to catch up on the {6-Diamonds} and {7-Diamonds} runout.

Jacobsen Can't Shake Rantamaki

Level 6 : 200/500, 500 ante

The action folded to Daniel Jacobsen in the cutoff who made it 1,200 to go. Joni Rantamaki defended from the big blind and the flop came {q-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}. Rantamaki checked to Jacobsen who continued for 2,000 and Rantamaki called.

The turn brought the {9-Diamonds} and Rantamaki checked again. Jacobsen fired out another 4,000 and Rantamaki still called. The river was the {5-Hearts} and Rantamaki checked for the third time. Jacobsen gave up and checked it back. Rantamaki tabled {q-Spades}{10-Hearts} and Jacobsen couldn't beat it.

Rijken Puts Baudon to the Test

Level 6 : 200/500, 500 ante

Benjamin Rijken raised it up in middle position and Sebastien Baudon three-bet to 3,500 from the cutoff. The action folded back to Rijken who made the call.

The flop came {k-Spades}{j-Spades}{2-Clubs} and Rijken checked to Baudon who continued for 5,000. Rijken called and the {8-Spades} landed on the turn. Both players checked and the {j-Diamonds} paired the board on the river. Rijken slammed in his stack of 5,000 chips, enough to put Baudon to the test for his remaining 28,000 chips. Baudon thought for mere seconds before letting his cards go.

Lappin Gets Hit Hard

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

Hugues Mazerolle opened to 900 from early position and David Lappin called from the cutoff. The two players saw a flop of {q-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{3-Spades} and Mazerolle check-called a bet of 1,000 from Lappin.

The turn brought the {5-Spades} and Mazerolle checked again. Lappin bet 2,500 and Mazerolle check-raised to 8,500 this time. Lappin called and the {j-Hearts} completed the board.

Mazerolle over-bet shoved all in for 35,500 and Lappin was on the edge of his seat as he thought about what to do.

"I don't think I can fold this one," Lappin said as he stuck in the chips to call. Mazerolle turned over {a-Spades}{8-Spades} for the nuts while Lappin had a smaller flush with {j-Spades}{10-Spades}.

Tran Takes Down Muzsi

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante
Tai Tran
Tai Tran

After a couple of preflop raises, Tai Tran and Levente Muzsi got all of their chips in the middle. Muzsi was the player at risk for around 15,000 chips and needed some help once the cards were tabled.

Tai Tran: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}
Levente Muzsi: {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}

The board ran out {j-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{10-Spades} and Tran's pocket aces held on to eliminate Muzsi with hardly any sweat.
