Hardcastle Takes a Stack

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Jack Hardcastle has been on a tear early in Day 2. He started the day with a short stack, but he's now playing over 400,000. He cracked the 400K mark after a hand against Pieter Aerts. Action was on the turn wit the board reading {10-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{8-Spades}{4-Spades} and Hardcastle was facing a check-raise from Aerts, pumping up Hardcastle's original 20,000 bet to 50,000.

Hardcastle made the call, and the river came {10-Diamonds}. Aerts checked again, and Hardcastle shoved with the bigger stack. Aerts hit the tank for a half minute or so, before he called off hos whole stack, but mucked and walked away when Hardcastle tabled {a-Spades}{10-Spades}.

In the Money

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Cedric Freling receiving champagne from Kasia Scanlon as a bubble prize
Cedric Freling receiving champagne from Kasia Scanlon as a bubble prize

After a grueling bubble that went on for more than two hours, they are finally in the money. Short stacks have been doubling at every opportunity, but the run had to come to an end eventually.

Cedric Freling called off his short stack in the cutoff after a middle position raise from Steven Vollers that covered Freling's stack of 11,000. After all the other action on other tables was complete, they revealed the hands, and Freling was ahead with pocket queens against the {a-Spades}{j-Clubs} of Vollers.

That all changed on the flop of {2-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{a-} but the {4-Spades} turn gave outs to a chop to keep Freling alive. The river {6-Clubs} wasn't any help for Freling though, and he was the final person to bust before the money.

Weijie Zheng
Weijie Zheng

All the chips went in on an ace-nine-blank flop, with Weijie Zheng flopping the worst set with pocket nines against the top set of Tompkins with aces. The turn card was the case nine though, improving Zheng to quads. Tompkins was unable to find the final ace in the deck on the flop and he was forced to double Zheng up.

Max Silver Eliminated in 16th Place for €4,070

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Max Silver
Max Silver

Max Silver raised from early position to 30,000, leaving himself just 7,000 behind. It folded to Jack Hardcastle on the button, and he raised to 48,000. The blinds got out of the way, and Solver tossed in his last few chips for the call.

It was a not-so-classic race as Silver was playing {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} against the pocket tens of Hardcastle. The board came {8-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{8-Spades}{7-Spades}{4-Spades} to send Silver home in 16th place.
