Meutstege Doubles Through Dahl

Level 6 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante
Koen Meutstege
Koen Meutstege

On a flop of {10-Hearts}{5-Spades}{5-Diamonds}, Juho Santala and Koen Meutstege checked to Baard Dahl on the button who bet 1,700. Santala folded while Meutstege then check-raised to 5,100. Dahl called and paid a bet worth 5,000 by Meutstege on the {5-Hearts} turn.

The {3-Spades} river brought the shove by the Dutchman for 21,000 and Dahl called after a few seconds of consideration. Meutstege rolled over the {a-Spades}{a-Hearts} for fives full of aces and Dahl briefly exposed his {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for an inferior full house, bemoaning the "worst turn card".

Matyjaszczyk Gets One Through Against Lappin

Level 6 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

In a battle small blind versus cutoff, David Lappin bet the {k-Clubs}{9-Spades}{8-Hearts}{j-Spades} turn in four-way action and was called only by Jaroslaw Matyjaszczyk as they headed to the {10-Spades} river. Lappin now bet again for 3,100 and Matyjaszczyk then raised to 10,000. That sent Lappin deep into the tank as he talked through various hand combinations that his opponent may have including the seven-eight of spades.

Lappin eventually sigh-folded and Matyjaszczyk raked in the pot without showing his cards. It has still been a decent last hour for the Unibet Poker ambassador, as Lappin leaped above the starting stack.

Nachtigall Scores a Knockout

Level 6 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

The cards of Giancarlo Del Barone were already in the muck as the dealer announced his seat open and sent the chips over exactly one seat. Matthias Nachtigall in the small blind still had his {a-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} exposed and that was the winning hand, as a pair of nines on the {k-Spades}{q-Spades}{3-Clubs}{2-Spades}{9-Clubs} board was good enough to reduce the Day 1a field by one.

Heikkila Wins With Aggression

Level 6 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

On a heads-up flop of {10-Clubs}{7-Spades}{6-Hearts}, Ilkka Heikkila and Andrei Tamaduianu invested 1,600 each and Tamaduianu check-called the {2-Diamonds} turn for 2,000. The {8-Diamonds} river completed the board and Heikkila now bet 20,000, which covered the shorter stack of his table neighbour.

Tamaduianu sent his cards straight into the muck and that allowed Heikkila to win the pot uncontested. Some further assorted counts can be found below.

Down and Up for Lappin

Level 6 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante
David Lappin
David Lappin

David Lappin clashed with Esa Valliaro as both checked down the {k-Clubs}{8-Spades}{5-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} river. With some 24,000 in the middle, Valliaro won the pot with {j-Clubs}{j-Spades}.

Soon after, the Finn three-bet small and Lappin stuck around as the initial raiser to see a {9-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} flop go check, check. Valliaro bet the {6-Spades} turn for 3,200 and Lappin came along to then check behind the {j-Diamonds} on the river. Valliaro shrugged before revealing {k-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}, which Lappin had beat with the {2-Hearts}{2-Clubs} for a mighty pair of ducks.

Le Boisselier Takes From De Laat

Level 6 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Heads-up to the {8-Clubs}{7-Spades}{3-Spades}{9-Diamonds} turn, Bas de Laat made it 1,500 to go. Louis Le Boisselier as the other table big stack raised it up to 5,000 and de Laat called after brief consideration. The Dutchman then checked the {10-Diamonds} turn and Le Boisselier double-checked his cards before firing a bet worth 15,000.

No call followed as Le Boisselier pulled further ahead of De Laat.

Rummukainen Flops the Nuts to Double

Level 6 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

On a completed board of {7-Spades}{6-Spades}{5-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}, Mikael Johansson bet 8,400 with exactly 20,000 behind. He then faced the shove by Rummukainen for 26,700 in total and was sent into the think-tank.

A very reluctant call followed as Rummukainen tabled the {9-Spades}{8-Spades} for a flopped straight flush to score the double. "I guess I should have folded there," Johansson said with a dry smile on the face as he exposed {k-Spades}{q-Spades} for an inferior king-high flush. Left with fumes, the Swede departed shortly after.

Sandoff Doubles Through Gala

Level 6 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Table big stack Domenico Gala bet the {a-Spades}{8-Spades}{6-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} turn for 15,000 and then tossed in a few solitary chips when Karl Erik Sandoff pushed for the last 17,800.

Karl Erik Sandoff: {a-Hearts}{6-Clubs}
Domenico Gala: {9-Hearts}{7-Hearts}

In short deck, Gala would have flopped the straight but he needed to improve in regular Hold'em. No help arrived on the {q-Clubs} river as Sandoff scored a double up.
