Drummond Knocked Out by Lo Presti

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

The cards were already on their backs when Robert Drummond was the player at risk, seeing his fate put on the line against Italy's Samuele Lo Presti.

Robert Drummond: {a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}
Samuele Lo Presti: {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}

The {10-Spades}{8-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} flop and 9h] turn kept Drummond with some outs but Lo Presti was the one to improve upon when the {q-Spades} river completed the board.

Another Setback for Herboldt

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

On the tail end of a pot between Hasmukh Khodiyara and Justin Herboldt, the former checked the {k-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{5-Spades}{k-Spades}{10-Spades} river. Herboldt tossed in a single T-5,000 chip for a bet and received a quick call.

The {8-Diamonds}{7-Spades} of Herboldt had missed a straight draw and Khodiyara won the pot with the {k-Clubs}{q-Hearts} for trips kings. That reduced the stack of Herboldt to just over ten blinds and he dropped into the danger zone.

Enselme Near the Top of the Leaderboard

Arnaud Enselme

Several former big stacks were spotted in the list of recent casualties and among them was also Kevin Frame. A quick look at his former table revealed a far bigger stack for Unibet ambassador Arnaud Enselme, who leaped above 200k in chips.

According to the Frenchman, he opened to 2,500 in the cutoff and the button called. Frame three-bet to 12,500 and then called a shove by Enselme with ace-king for around 60,000. It was a flip versus pocket tens and another ten in the window secured the knockout.

Herboldt Cannot Catch a Break

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

In a battle big blind versus button. Robin Valting took on Justin Herboldt as the latter was all-in for 9,300 on the {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{2-Spades}{4-Spades} turn.

Justin Herboldt: {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}
Robin Valting: {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}

The run-bad of Herboldt on the table continued with the {10-Hearts} struck on the river, as it improved Valting to a full house. "Wow, you ran really bad here," Julius Tiihonen concluded before the table broke right after.

Lucky Chop and a Double for Oberting

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

David Oberting was all-in for the last 11,000 and Alexis Longhe flat-called from one seat over. The table chip leader Dylan Kirstein then pushed all-in and Longhe folded. Once the cards were turned over, Longhe sighed as he briefly exposed ace-king too.

David Oberting: {a-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}
Dylan Kirstein: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}

The board ran out {j-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} and they chopped it up for Oberting to increase his short stack.

Soon after, Oberting was all-in for 17,100 and three-bettor Tal Sardal reluctantly called.

David Oberting: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}
Tal Sardal: {q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}

Thanks to a board of {j-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{10-Spades}, Oberting improved to the unbeatable nut flush to score a double.

Khodiyara Reaches the Average Stack

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

The pace of eliminations is certainly slower than in the previous regular starting day as some 68 players out of 152 contenders remain near the end of level nine on Day 1b.

The UK's Hasmukh Khodiyara avoided the knockout when his {6-Spades}{6-Hearts} flopped a set of sixes to double through Serdar Demircan. Both players are now pretty much spot on for the average stack and aim to survive another two levels until bagging and tagging.

Hunter Slips Further on the Leaderboard

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

On the river of a {q-Clubs}{9-Spades}{8-Spades}{2-Spades}{6-Diamonds} board, John Hunter paid off a medium-sized bet by Damien Gayer. The latter tabled the {j-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} for the flopped straight and Hunter sent his cards into the muck with a sublime "nice".

Longhe Pays Off Kirstein

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

What has appeared to be a two-horse raise for the Day 1b lead is now shifted towards Arnaud Enselme. Dylan Kirstein was hot on his heels but lost a few chips before getting some of them back.

Alexis Longhe in the small blind defended against Kirstein and check-called the {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{j-Clubs} flop for 3,500. The {k-Clubs} turn went check, check, and Longhe check-called another 5,500 on the {3-Spades} river. Kirstein revealed the {a-Spades}{4-Spades} for trips aces and Longhe mucked {k-Hearts}{q-Spades}.

Smyth Flips Well for a Double

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

The action folded all the way to Joni Liimatta in the small blind and the Finn pushed several T-5,000 in the middle of the table. Jason Smyth called all-in for 16,300 and the following coin flip unfolded.

Jason Smyth: {a-Spades}{9-Spades}
Joni Liimatta: {6-Clubs}{6-Spades}

No help came on the {k-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{3-Clubs} flop and {5-Spades} turn but the {a-Hearts} river gave Smyth the superior two pair.
