Oliver Said Eliminated in 17th Place (€4,230)

Level 20 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
Oliver Said
Oliver Said

Rene Kuhlman raised to 50,000 to then call the three-bet shove by Oliver Said for 320,000 total.

Oliver Said: {a-Hearts}{3-Hearts}
Rene Kuhlman: {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades}

The pocket pair remained ahead on the {q-Hearts}{j-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} board and Said had to settle for 17th place, taking home €4,230. With the field down to 16 players, another redraw will take place upon completion of the current hand.

Daniele Degennaro Eliminated in 16th Place (€4,230)

Level 20 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
Daniele Degennaro
Daniele Degennaro

One more hand was to be played on the feature table and that one brought an all-in and call with Daniele Degennaro at risk of elimination from the button against Mats Karlsson on the big blind..

Daniele Degennaro: {a-Diamonds}{6-Spades}
Mats Karlsson: {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}

Things looked dire after the {a-Spades}{10-Clubs}{8-Clubs} flop but the {6-Diamonds} turn improved the Italian to two pair. Plenty of outs were to be dodged and the {k-Clubs} river improved Karlsson to the nut flush, sending Degennaro to the rail in 16th place for €4,230.

The 15 remaining contenders will now redraw to the last two tables.

Dylan Kirstein Eliminated in 15th Place (€4,740)

Level 20 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
Dylan Kirstein
Dylan Kirstein

The outer table brought the preflop all-in contest between Tal Sardal from under the gun and Dylan Kirstein one seat over as both held near identical stack sizes.

Tal Sardal: {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts}
Dylan Kirstein: {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}

Thanks to a board of {j-Spades}{9-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{q-Hearts}, Sardal doubled for 495,000 and jumped to a seven-figure stack.

Moments later, Kirstein was all-in for the last few chips and he was looked up by Sardal out of the big blind.

Dylan Kirstein: {k-Clubs}{9-Hearts}
Tal Sardal: {8-Hearts}{5-Clubs}

The {q-Spades}{8-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} board improved Sardal to jacks and eights as Kirstein dropped out in 15th place for €4,740.

Molderkivi Chips Up Through Lo Presti

Level 20 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
Rain Molderkivi
Rain Molderkivi

Samuele Lo Presti raised to 30,000 with the {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} and Rain Molderkivi just flat-called with the {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}. The {9-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} flop was checked by the initial raiser and Molderkivi bet 35,000 to win the pot right there with the dominated ace.

Short Stack Galore But No Showdowns Yet

Level 20 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante

Seven players are below half a million in chips as both tables include tens duels for each blind. No all-in showdowns have taken place just yet and the latest player to get a shove through uncontested was Raymond Wheatley.

Mark Vella Eliminated in 14th Place (€4,740)

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Mark Vella
Mark Vella

After the blinds had gone up, Mark Vella was left with around 15 big blinds and he pushed the last 290,000 in from an early position. It folded all the way to Rain Molderkivi in the big blind and the Estonian reluctantly called after asking for an exact count.

Mark Vella: {k-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
Rain Molderkivi: {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}

The {a-Spades}{5-Hearts}{2-Spades} flop left Vella in need of running cards to avoid the elimination. One of them appeared with the {10-Hearts} turn but the {9-Clubs} river ended the run of the local player in 14th place for €4,740.

Karlsson Leads the Way; Kuhlman Cooled Down

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Mats Karlsson won a three-bet pot against Rene Kuhlman in which they invested no further chips on the {q-Spades}{5-Spades}{2-Clubs}{k-Spades} turn and {4-Diamonds} river as they knuckled it down.

Karlsson rolled over the {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds} and that won the pot.

One hand later, Henrik Juncker raised to 40,000 and Kuhlman called, as did Tal Sardal in the big blind. The {3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{2-Spades} flop was checked and Juncker bet the {10-Hearts} turn for 65,000. Only Kuhlman came along to then face a bet worth 145,000 on the {2-Hearts} river.

No call by the Dutchman followed as he lost the second hand in a row.

Wheatley Saved by a Jack

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Rene Kuhlman opened to 40,000 and then called the shove by Raymond Wheatley for 235,000 from two seats over in the cutoff.

Raymond Wheatley: {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}
Rene Kuhlman: {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}

The Irishman was dominated but one of the most difficult pocket pairs in poker resulted in a bad beat story this time. On a board of {9-Spades}{6-Spades}{5-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}, Wheatley spiked a jack on the turn and doubled with jacks full of nines.
