Domenico Gala Eliminated in 11th Place (€6,260)

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Domenico Gala
Domenico Gala

Over on the outer table, Rene Kuhlman limped in from the small blind. Domenico Gala then pushed all-in for 240,000 in total and Kuhlman instantly sighed and dropped back into his chair.

He deliberated the decision for a minute and eventually opted for the call.

Domenico Gala: {a-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}
Rene Kuhlman: {a-Hearts}{9-Clubs}

A small Italian rail gathered around the table and Gala paired his kicker on the {j-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{8-Hearts} flop. However, the disappointment followed right away on the {q-Clubs} turn and the {8-Clubs} river avoided a split pot.

Gala was knocked out in 11th place for €6,260 and Day 2 of the Main Event is just one elimination away from the conclusion.

Angelo Vietti Eliminated in 12th Place (€5,440)

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Angelo Vietti
Angelo Vietti

For the past hour or two, Angelo Vietti had barely played any hand and it was no surprise that the stack was whittled down. Eventually, the Italian was all-in out of the small blind for just 145,000 and got looked up by fellow countryman Samuele Lo Presti in the big blind.

Angelo Vietti: {a-Clubs}{4-Hearts}
Samuele Lo Presti: {q-Hearts}{8-Hearts}

The {6-Spades}{2-Spades}{2-Diamonds} flop and {6-Hearts} turn kept Vietti's hope of reaching the final table alive. However, the {8-Diamonds} on the river improved Lo Presti for Vietti to bust in 12th place.

Hagen Gets Demircan to Fold the Superior Hand

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Serdar Demircan raised to 60,000 with the {a-Hearts}{10-Spades} in the hijack. He had previously folded to a shove with the {k-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} and this time had a decision once again.

Andreas Hagen jammed for 455,000 with the {a-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} in the cutoff to send Demircan into the blender.

Gerben Bos Eliminated in 13th Place (€5,440)

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Gerben Bos
Gerben Bos

The outer table brought an open raise by Henrik Juncker, who then called the three-bet shove by the table short stack Gerben Bos for 13 big blinds.

Gerben Bos: {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}
Henrik Juncker: {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

While the Dutchman was ahead preflop, that changed on the {10-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} flop as Juncker improved to a pair of tens. No help arrived on the {3-Diamonds} turn and {5-Clubs} river for Bos to bow out in 13th place.

Two Barrels Work for Karlsson

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Mats Karlsson raised to 40,000 in the hijack and Rene Kuhlman called on the button, Raymond Wheatley defended the big blind. As the trio headed to the {a-Hearts}{10-Spades}{2-Spades} flop on which Wheatley checked.

Karlsson bet 40,000 for Kuhlman to call and Wheatley to fold.

After the {8-Clubs} turn, Karlsson upped his bet sizing to 80,000 and Kuhlman folded.

Wheatley Saved by a Jack

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Rene Kuhlman opened to 40,000 and then called the shove by Raymond Wheatley for 235,000 from two seats over in the cutoff.

Raymond Wheatley: {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}
Rene Kuhlman: {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}

The Irishman was dominated but one of the most difficult pocket pairs in poker resulted in a bad beat story this time. On a board of {9-Spades}{6-Spades}{5-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}, Wheatley spiked a jack on the turn and doubled with jacks full of nines.

Karlsson Leads the Way; Kuhlman Cooled Down

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Mats Karlsson won a three-bet pot against Rene Kuhlman in which they invested no further chips on the {q-Spades}{5-Spades}{2-Clubs}{k-Spades} turn and {4-Diamonds} river as they knuckled it down.

Karlsson rolled over the {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds} and that won the pot.

One hand later, Henrik Juncker raised to 40,000 and Kuhlman called, as did Tal Sardal in the big blind. The {3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{2-Spades} flop was checked and Juncker bet the {10-Hearts} turn for 65,000. Only Kuhlman came along to then face a bet worth 145,000 on the {2-Hearts} river.

No call by the Dutchman followed as he lost the second hand in a row.

Mark Vella Eliminated in 14th Place (€4,740)

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Mark Vella
Mark Vella

After the blinds had gone up, Mark Vella was left with around 15 big blinds and he pushed the last 290,000 in from an early position. It folded all the way to Rain Molderkivi in the big blind and the Estonian reluctantly called after asking for an exact count.

Mark Vella: {k-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
Rain Molderkivi: {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}

The {a-Spades}{5-Hearts}{2-Spades} flop left Vella in need of running cards to avoid the elimination. One of them appeared with the {10-Hearts} turn but the {9-Clubs} river ended the run of the local player in 14th place for €4,740.
