As Anthony Zinno exited, Rainer Kempe was under the gun (cutoff) and potted to 240,000. Richard Kirsch defended his big blind before shoving his last 205,000 on the {3-Spades}{2-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} flop. Kempe called right away.

Kirsch: {7-Spades}{5-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{3-Hearts}
Kempe: {K-Clubs}{K-Spades}{7-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}

Kirsch had a straight and a flush draw and he connected on the {10-Hearts} turn, leaving Kempe drawing dead. Kempe was crippled to just 45,000 and he wouldn't recover.

His shrapnel went in with {K-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} and both of Kempe's opponents tried to score his knockout. Gorodinsky held {K-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{X-} and Kirsch had {6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{2-Hearts}.

The {3-Spades}{8-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{8-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} board was checked through and Gorodinsky scooped the pot. Kempe, who entered the day second in chips, converted his field position into a bronze medal worth $83,200.
