Hands #54-58: Katz Gets the Better of Riess

Level 22 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Cary Katz
Cary Katz

Hand #54: Cary Katz raised to 100,000 on the button with {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts} and Ben Tollerene shipped all in for 765,000 in the small blind holding {4-Spades}{4-Diamonds}. The action folded back to Katz who sent his cards to the muck.

Hand #55: Jake Schindler limped in from the small blind with {8-Hearts}{2-Hearts} and Riess checked his option with {q-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}. The flop came {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{9-Spades} and Schindler picked up the pot with a bet of 40,000.

Hand #56: Riess just called from the small blind with {10-Clubs}{5-Spades} and Katz just checked his {a-Spades}{q-Clubs} in the big blind. The flop fell {a-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{8-Spades} and Riess led out for 40,000 which Katz quickly called. The {a-Clubs} on the turn paired the board and Riess checked this time. Katz tossed in a bet of 200,000 and Riess stuck around to see the {4-Diamonds} on the river.

Riess checked again and Katz put on a show, using up a time extension, before finally splashing in a bet of 395,000. Riess burned a time extension of his own before tossing in a single chip to signify a call. "I'm so bad," Riess said to himself after seeing Katz table his hand.

Hand #57: Schindler limped in from the cutoff with {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs} and Katz completed the small blind with {7-Hearts}{4-Spades}. Tollerene checked his option holding {9-Clubs}{8-Spades} and the flop fell {q-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{8-Hearts}. The action checked to Schindler who fired 50,000 which prompted a fold from Katz and a call from Tollerene. The turn brought the {7-Clubs} and both players knuckled the table to the {3-Hearts} on the river. Tollerene checked for the third time and Schindler placed a bet of 150,000. Tollerene paid him off and Schindler climbed back into the lead.

Hand #58: Tollerene just called with {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds} in the small blind and Schindler raised to 120,000 in the big blind with {k-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}. Tollerene shoved all in for 665, 000 and Schindler quickly released his hand.
