Level 18
: Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Dylan Foster min-raised to 24,000 from under the gun and then called a three-bet to 80,000 by Idris Hassan in the big blind. On a flop of J♦6♣5♦, Hassan continued for 65,000 to receive a call and fired a second barrel for 225,000 on the 9♣ turn. Foster jammed for 717,000 and Hassan called with a near identical stack.
Dylan Foster: J♠J♣
Idris Hassan: A♥A♠
Up until now, Hassan had been cruising near the top of the leaderboard for an extended period. But now, he needed an ace to avoid a huge blow to his stack and it never came on the 7♥ river. The dagger was for nearly his entire stack and he had Foster covered by fewer than three blinds two spots away from the money.
