Luke Martinelli entered not long ago and instantly got involved in the action. He didn't fire more than one barrel as the 6♦5♦5♠2♣4♠ board was checked down. Nathan O'Malley won it with 7♠4♥ while Martinelli's A♦9♠ and the K♦10♦ of Halil Bozdugan were no good.
Soon after, Martinelli raised to pick up two callers. They checked to the 9♥6♥3♣9♠ turn on which Martinelli's bet of 3,500 won the pot uncontested this time.
Morgan Ma opened to 1,500 before Jim Andreadis slid out a three-bet to 4,000. Ke Xu then moved all in, and Ma called off for less. Andreadis got out of the way, and the hands were turned up.
Morgan Ma: 6♦4♦
Ke Xu: Q♦Q♣
Ma picked up some additional outs but could not improve enough on the 8♠9♥5♦6♥9♠ board, as Xu scored the elimination.
Michael Guttmann limped from the small blind, and Amanda Decesare checked her big blind option to see the 3♥J♠7♠ flop. Guttman tossed out a bet of 1,000, and Decesare replied with a raise to 2,500.
Guttmann opted to let his hand go, allowing Decesare to add new chips to her growing stack.
Dale Code bet the 10♦8♥7♦ flop for 2,500 and was called by Amir Minagar. He repeated the bet size on the J♦ turn and then made it 12,000 to go on the 9♦ river. Minagar folded and was shown the A♦A♥ by Code.
The field has grown to 130 entries prior to the midway point of Day 1c, marking the largest opening flight of the tournament thus far.
Late registration remains open into Day 2, with the final flight scheduled for tomorrow.
Bridges Roe check-called the 8♦4♣3♦ flop for 2,600 before the 8♥ turn and Q♣ river were checked behind by Michael Egan. Roe tabled her 5♣4♥ and Egan chopped with the 4♠3♠.
"Three pair beats two pair, surely," Egan joked on a table with several notables.
Heidi May was cruising earlier on after she had run up her stack to around 80,000 which the table also pointed out in the chat as well, though, May was not there anymore when she clashed with Bob Sova in the most classic of preflop coolers.
Heidi May: K♦K♥
Bob Sova: A♣A♥
There was no escape on the J♦9♠2♦J♠3♦ to send May to the rail.
Level: 6
Blinds: 400/800
Ante: 800
Maduka Perera opened to 1,200 from under the gun, and Dale Code promptly three-bet to 2,600 as next to act. Cameron Lawless then moved all in from middle position, and Perera let his hand go. Code made the call, leaving Lawless at risk.
Cameron Lawless: 5♥5♦
Dale Code: 10♠10♥
Code revealed the better pocket pair, and Lawless came up empty on the K♥3♠7♦3♦9♣ board to hit the rail.
