Bifarella Loses a Small Bunch to Gomez

Level 17 : 1,500/3,500, 3,500 ante

Mathieu Gomez raised from the cutoff and Samuel Bifarella called in the small blind. The latter then check-called the {q-Spades}{7-Spades}{4-Spades} flop for 8,000 and the {8-Clubs} turn for 16,500. Both checked the {3-Clubs} river and Bifarella tabled {a-Spades}{6-Diamonds} for a pair and busted nut flush draw.

Gomez had that beat with the {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs} to win the urgently needed pot. "I can't really fold there on the flop and turn?!" Bifarella inquired in table chat.

Too Many Outs for "Tsunamy"

Level 17 : 1,500/3,500, 3,500 ante
Tsunamy
Tsunamy

Spanish regular "Tsunamy" raised to 7,000 on the button and was called by Simon Ben Yahia in the big blind. The {7-Hearts}{6-Spades}{3-Spades} flop was checked by Ben Yahia, who then called a bet worth 6,500 by his fellow countryman. Ben Yahia check-called for another 21,500 on the {a-Diamonds} turn and "Tsunamy" checked behind the {k-Clubs} river.

Ben Yahia tabled the {j-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} for a pair of sevens and "Tsunamy" sighed, flashed {9-Spades}{8-Spades} for the missed open-ender and flush draw.
