€500 Main Event
Day 1a Started
Today makes way for the Winamax Poker Open's much-anticipated €500 Main Event, here in Bratislava. The first of four starting flights is expected to attract hundreds of hopefuls to the Banco Casino for its noon start time, all fighting for their place in Winamax history.
In 2023, Martin Bartos bested a field of 1,577 players, allowing him to lay claim to the trophy, title and €100,000. However, with the recent success of Winamax’s 2024 SISMIX event in Marrakech breaking the world record for the largest live six-max event ever hosted, these numbers are highly anticipated to be surpassed.

Those who advance to Day 2 and Day 3 will benefit from a clock of 35 minutes and 40 minutes respectively. Each Day 1 will conclude when approximately 16.6% of the field remains; all advancing players will be in the money.
But it’s not just poker that the players can sink their teeth into; for the remainder of the week, Winamax is hosting an abundance of side activities for attendees including Beer Pong, a cocktail dinner, Bongo Loco and more. Tonight, at 9 p.m., players will compete against each other in the infamous Pingthalon.
PokerNews will have boots on the ground for the entirety of the Main Event, so be sure to stick with the live updates to keep up with all the action.
The start of play has been delayed by roughly ten minutes while the players are being seated.
