Amadou Gassama and Steven Lamalle had each put in 1,500,000 preflop, from under the gun and the button respectively, in a four-bet pot.
The flop came A♠9♦6♣, and Gassama check-raised to 1,300,000 over a continuation bet of 500,000 from Lamalle.
Lamalle called to see the 2♠ turn, and Gassama slowed down, checking to his opponent.
Lamalle quickly fired out a bet of 2,000,000 when checked to him, and Gassama folded just as quickly.
Gus Hansen opened to 900,000, and Nassim Rais called in the small blind, while Julien Viel moved all in for 375,000 from the big blind.
The 9♦8♠4♦ flop was checked to the 2♦ turn, where Rais check-folded versus a jam from Hansen.
Julien Viel: 7♦5♣
Gus Hansen: 10♦9♠
Viel needed some help, but the 4♠ river was a brick.
He hugged his brother Eric, wished the final table good luck, and departed.
Alexis Tremblay has secured his third double-up in short order here.
He was all-in for 2,775,000 from the small blind, versus Tristan Vernay's open to 525,000 from the cutoff.
After pondering the spot for a moment, Vernay said "Allez, bonne chance, call".
Alexis Tremblay: K♦Q♥
Tristan Vernay: A♦J♦
Vernay was ahead, and hit the J♥9♣6♠ flop, but Tremblay turned the nut straight with the 10♠, and the irrelevant 2♥ completed the board.
Tremblay celebrated enthusiastically with his rail.
Short-stack Alexis Tremblay has secured two doubles in a row.
In the first, he was all-in with Q♥J♣ against Jeremy Cauchard's 10♦9♦ after jamming the small blind, and spiked the turn on A♣10♣3♠J♠7♦.
Then he doubled through chip-leader Tristan Vernay, spiking the river, again with Q♥J♣, versus Vernay's K♣3♥ on 9♥9♦4♦4♥J♠.
Vernay looked crestfallen as the river hit.
Benoit Pierrisnard jammed for 1,950,000 from the cutoff, and was looked up by Mirand Murseli in the small blind.
Benoit Pierrisnard: A♥10♦
Mirand Murseli: 9♠9♥
It was off to the races, but Pierrisnard missed the K♥6♦3♥3♦3♠ runout.
