Lisa Sheehy Eliminated

Level 23 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

Lisa Sheehy three-bet shoved on Lawrence Porath and he went into the tank. Eventually, Ben Zamani called the clock and just before Porath was out of time he called with {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}.

Porath had opened to 60,000 and Sheehy shoved for 297,000 from the button. She had pocket sevens against the {a-}{k-} of Porath. Porath flopped a king and turned an ace to eliminate Sheehy from the tournament shortly after the players returned from dinner.

Rettenmaier Eliminates Claffey

Level 23 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

Two players checked to Charlie Claffey on a {9-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} flop, and he shoved all in for about 280,000, well over the size of the pot, which looked like about 150,000. Aaron Mermelstein tanked a bit in the blinds and folded, but Marvin Rettermaier snap-called and tabled {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}. Claffey had {a-Clubs}{j-Spades} and was left patting the table after the {3-Spades} turn and {2-Hearts} river.

Gary Otake Doubles Through Lang Nguyen

Level 23 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

Lang Nguyen opened in early position to 50,000 and Gary Otake shoved all in for 401,000. Nguyen got a count then shrugged.

"I'm never folding," he said, but he wasn't looking very happy about it.

He was flipping with jacks against {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs} and Otake hit a king on the flop. Nguyen still had a shot with a flush draw, but the board didn't cooperate.

The final board was {9-Spades}{5-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{3-Diamonds}.

Aaron Mermelstein
Aaron Mermelstein

Aaron Mermelstein made it 52,000 on the button and then called a three-bet to 162,000 from small blind Chris Hooper. Hooper continued for 250,000 on the {3-Spades}{7-Spades}{5-Diamonds} flop and Mermelstein called. Both checked the {2-Spades} and {q-Spades} and Hooper opened {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}. Mermelstein couldn't beat it.

Collin Grubaugh Eliminated in 28th Place ($11,268)

Level 23 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

Collin Grubaugh was competing with Maxx Coleman for the chip lead earlier in the day. After he got all in when he three-bet shoved on Aaron Massey he was behind and at risk, holding pocket eights, {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}, to the pocket tens, {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}, of Massey.

The board ran out {k-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{k-Hearts} giving both players a full house, but Massey the bigger one.

Aaron Mermelstein raised and Anthony Spinella three-bet all in. Mermelstein called his last 420,000 and Spinella had him pipped with {a-}{q-} against his {a-}{j-}.

Neither player connected with the board, but Spinella stayed ahead and eliminated Mermelstein in 26th place.

Rieck Doubles Through Zamani

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 4,000 ante

Ben Zamani opened for 50,000 in middle position and Mike Rieck jammed on his left. It was only 226,000 total, but Zamani still had to think things over. Ultimately, he did call.

Rieck: {a-Hearts}{8-Hearts}
Zamani: {k-Clubs}{8-Clubs}

Mike Dentale wasn't pleased, saying he mucked ace-ten in the big blind. The board ran out {q-Spades}{j-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{6-Spades}{5-Hearts}, so he'd have chopped with Rieck, who got a full double from his neighbor.
